About VeryAI

VeryAI is on a mission to make the internet more human, all in the palm of your hand. Combining proprietary palm biometrics with agent verification, VeryAI powers secure and seamless digital experiences across social, fintech, and crypto platforms through the first hardware-free palm scan that works on any smartphone.

Built for an era of AI deepfakes and digital spoofing, VeryAI delivers fraud-resistant verification with privacy at its core. The platform enables organizations to confirm real users without compromising personal data. Developed by experts in biometrics, crypto, and AI, VeryAI is designed to meet the growing need for trust in an increasingly digital world.

By putting the next layer of trust in the palm of your hand, VeryAI is creating a new standard for online authenticity and security.

About the Role

VeryAI is hiring a Senior Engineer to own core parts of the platform behind Proof of Reality. You will work directly with our Head of Engineering to set technical direction, take problems from a rough brief to a shipped and monitored system, and raise the bar for how we build. This is a senior seat on a small team. You make the hard calls, you own what you ship, and you stay with it after launch. Our backend runs on Go, with TypeScript and React/Next.js on the web. We build with AI, not around it. The team uses Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor every day, and we expect senior engineers to know when the model is right and when it is wrong. In a fraud and biometrics product, that judgment is the job.

What You'll Do

  • Own services end to end, from design and implementation through rollout, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Set technical direction on architecture, data models, and APIs, and make sound calls on security and privacy tradeoffs.
  • Take ambiguous problems from a rough brief to a shipped system, and decide what to build first and what to leave out.
  • Build and harden the backend services and front-end experiences behind our verification platform as the product scales.
  • Build out data visibility across the platform, including verification metrics, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Ship the developer portal and partner-facing APIs that power customer integrations.
  • Put AI agents to work on recurring load like debugging, migrations, and maintenance, and make our internal agents more reliable.
  • Review designs and code with a critical eye, including AI-generated code, and set the standard for what ships.
  • Mentor and unblock other engineers through code review, clear docs, and good habits.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years building production software, with real ownership of backend services after launch.
  • Deep experience in Go or a comparable backend language, plus working comfort with TypeScript and React.
  • Strong API and data modeling judgment, including schema changes and migrations on live systems.
  • Experience building and running scalable, cloud-based applications.
  • The ability to debug across service boundaries with logs, metrics, traces, and source code.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development. You use tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor in your daily workflow and review what they produce critically.
  • Deep industry experience that lets you judge AI output on your own. When a tool says its result is 100% correct, you know how to check it and you catch it when it is wrong.
  • A track record building a product from zero to one and scaling it to 100. That can be at a startup, or by launching a new product line inside a larger company that grew into something big.
  • Clear written and verbal communication. You share tradeoffs, progress, and blockers without being asked.

Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • Experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, Kafka, Redis, gRPC/protobuf, or PostgreSQL with sqlc.
  • A background in identity, biometrics, fraud, or other security and privacy sensitive systems.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic or autonomous coding tools beyond the mainstream assistants.
  • Side projects or open source work you are proud of. Show us.
  • Based in New York or San Francisco, where our tech and product teams meet in person.

How to Apply

Send a CV and a short note on one or two things you have built that are relevant to this role. Tell us what the problem was, the decisions you made, and what you would do differently. Links to code or live projects are welcome. We read everything.
