Your Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Social Video Editor to join our Brand Social team and elevate how we create, optimize, and scale short-form video on social.
This role sits at the intersection of creative craft, social + platform fluency, performance analytics, and AI-enabled production. You will transform existing footage, UGC, and campaign assets into high-performing, platform-native content across TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, strengthening Chewy’s brand presence while fueling our organic and organic-to-paid ecosystem.
You are a brand-minded creative operator who understands how social platforms behave, how culture moves, and how emerging tools can accelerate craft. You know how to build emotional resonance and cultural relevance through video. You’ll collaborate closely with strategists, creatives and cross-functional partners to ensure our social presence is intentional, timely, and creatively distinctive.
What You’ll Do:
Platform-Native Video Storytelling & Craft Excellence
- Lead end-to-end editing of high-performing short-form video across TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts, crafting scroll-stopping hooks and retention-driven pacing.
- Shape emotionally resonant narratives across brand, campaign and trend-inspired content while maintaining platform authenticity.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Premiere Pro (and After Effects preferred), including motion graphics, sound design, color correction, and dynamic captioning for mobile-first viewing.
- Own versioning strategy (alternate hooks, cutdowns, aspect ratios, caption treatments) to optimize performance across organic and paid placements.
Performance Optimization & Organic-to-Paid Scalability
- Develop repeatable, brand-first, performance-informed editing frameworks designed to power the organic and paid algorithms
- Analyze retention curves, watch time, and engagement metrics to refine pacing, hooks, and creative structure.
- Partner cross-functionally with Brand, Paid, and Analytics to build creative optimized for amplification and measurable business impact.
- Deliver platform-ready exports with technical precision (formatting specs, compression settings, caption burn-in, audio leveling) to ensure seamless deployment across channels.
Creative Technology Innovation & Asset Systems Leadership
- Leverage AI-assisted editing, automated captioning, transcription, and generative tooling to accelerate workflow and scalable versioning.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase creative velocity without compromising storytelling quality.
- Own and evolve the centralized Brand Social video library, establishing standardized ingest workflows, taxonomy, tagging, and rights management.
- Maintain organized, searchable, and technically optimized asset systems to maximize reuse across internal shoots, UGC, agencies, and brand partners.
What You’ll Need:
- 5+ years of experience editing short-form social content within brand social, advertising, or digital marketing teams (in-house or agency)
- Strong understanding of brand-building, campaign storytelling, and social-first creative
- Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Deep expertise in Premiere Pro (After Effects preferred), CapCut or similar social-first tools
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and creative judgment skills
- Passion for pets and brands, advertising, and culture
- Position may require travel
