Your Opportunity:

The HR Business Expansion & Compliance Office (BECO) is searching for an Analyst to join the team! This role plays a critical role in supporting Chewy’s growth by building adaptive, scalable, and human-centric HR solutions. The BECO team maintains compliance with evolving labor, immigration, and privacy regulations while prioritizing the team member experience across domestic and international operations. Team Members in BECO serve as strategic problem solvers and cross-functional collaborators, operating with a blend of expertise, agility, and ownership. While each role may require specialized knowledge based on individual deliverables, all BECO managers work under the direction of their leadership to anchor in the following core competencies:

  • Compliance Expertise – Proactively identifying and mitigating HR compliance risks across areas such as fair labor practices, equality, immigration, data governance, and privacy.

  • Program & Project Management – Designing, executing, and managing projects that enable regulatory alignment, operational readiness, and scalable solutions.

  • Strategic Thinking & Execution – Applying a forward-looking approach to develop actionable strategies that support Chewy’s expansion goals and long-term business objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partnering with Legal, IT, HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), and business leaders to ensure alignment and shared accountability.

  • Communication & Influence – Delivering clear, effective messaging to inspire change, influence decisions, and build trust across partner groups.

  • Change Management – Leading through complexity by guiding organizations through transitions and transformations with empathy, structure, and transparency.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with HR Compliance Operations leaders, Legal, and key partners to develop, maintain, and implement HR compliance programs across wage and hour laws, hiring processes, and employment practices

  • Assess and interpret changes in federal, state, county, and city employment legislation; communicate relevant updates and their impact to HR partners and Team Members

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of scalable compliance processes for core HR activities including job postings, offer letters, I-9s, background checks, onboarding, and training

  • Maintain working knowledge of employment laws and labor regulations to ensure policies, procedures, and HR programs remain compliant and up to date

  • Own and manage day-to-day operational compliance programs such as Form I-9/E-Verify, remote work policy compliance, new entity readiness, and federal/state reporting (e.g., EEO-1, CA Pay Data)

  • Draft, update, and maintain employment policies, handbooks, procedures, and job aids in accordance with current legal requirements

  • Lead or contribute to compliance-related projects focused on centralization, automation, and enhanced governance across HR functions

  • Create and maintain training content on key compliance topics and coordinate the delivery of required training to HR teams using appropriate formats and tools

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to assess compliance risks, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that enable operational efficiency and mitigate exposure

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business partners, building strong internal relationships and providing consultative support on compliance requirements and standard processes

  • Coordinate compliance deliverables in support of strategic business expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and new market entry projects

  • Maintain detailed documentation, tracking mechanisms, and knowledge management tools to ensure audit readiness and program continuity

  • Support cross-functional meetings, working groups, and reporting efforts by providing accurate data and insights on compliance activities

  • Assist with the evaluation of HR compliance initiatives and generate recommendations for process refinement and long-term scalability

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of corporate experience in HR, Legal, Internal Audit or related area

  • 2+ years compliance or business expansion experience

  • Multi-state operational and/or compliance experience; International experience preferred.

  • Understanding of statutory regulations including FMLA, FSLA, EEO, Privacy and state/country laws

  • Accurate and thorough with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, flexible outlook, and strong ethical values

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive and personal information

  • Compliance Certifications and/or Program Management Certifications preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

The base salary range for this role is $78,500 - $130,000.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
