As a Senior Linux Systems Admin at Vultr, you will be able to take your technical skills to the next level by tackling challenging issues as you support our ever-expanding global customer base. We are searching for technology driven, detail oriented, team players who are willing to help strengthen our exceptional support and operations teams. At Vultr, you will push your technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to their limits and grow to new heights.
What to expect:
Mentor and train Junior System Administrators and System Administrators
Act as lead on projects
Incident response management for escalations
Setup and manage internal infrastructure VMs/services
Stage upgrades and updates to fleet
Provide software setup of new nodes
Advance troubleshooting of platform and customer reported issues
Stand up servers by installing software
Our ideal candidate will have:
Fluent in Linux (CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu)
Experience with BASH, Python, or other scripting languages
Additional virtualization, network administration, or development experience preferred
Experience with Kubernetes, PHP routing, Cumulus Linux, and Libvirt is a plus
Experience configuring the following applications:
Web Servers
Databases & Caching Solutions
Firewalls
Can demonstrate understanding of the following concepts
Common Linux Utilities
Server/Application Architecture and Security Hardening
Distributed Storage Solutions (e.g., Ceph)
Virtualization
Load Balancing
Networking Concepts
Compensation
$80,000 - $90,000
This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
