Join Vultr
We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Cloud Networking to build the evolution of Vultr’s global cloud networking platform. You’ll drive implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure network services including VPC, edge connectivity, and security features. This is a cross-functional, hands-on role building the networking foundation of Vultr's infrastructure.
Key Responsiblities
Work on technical design for next-gen cloud networking: VPC, security groups, gateways, routing domains
Drive implementation of control/data plane features and network orchestration
Manage services like BGP peering, tenant isolation, and network policy enforcement
Prototype and validate new capabilities at scale
Support production systems and incident response
Extend Vultr’s control plane to integrate networking features
Qualifications
2+ years in infrastructure, network engineering, or hosting environments
Experience with virtual networking (public/private cloud), SDN, VXLAN/EVPN
Strong knowledge of BGP, L2/L3 routing, Linux and Kubernetes networking
Network automation and observability experience
Proficiency in Go or Rust; familiarity with PHP and SQL a plus
Clear communication across engineering and leadership
High-performance networking hardware (Broadcom DNX, XGS, DPUs, SmartNICs, etc.)
Legacy system modernization
Network security or multi-tenant firewall experience
Cloud provider or hyperscaler background
Compensation
$90,000 - $115,000
This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
