Vultr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting. The ideal candidate is CPA with both private and public accounting experience. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company. This is your opportunity to join our fast growing team and leave your mark on Vultr and the future of Cloud Infrastructure.
What to expect:
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) on the company: You must understand the company's specific application of complex accounting issues, such as revenue recognition, leases, equity, and consolidations.
- Understand the business strategy: Meet with business leaders and members of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to understand the company's long-term goals and strategic initiatives.
- Learn the processes: Familiarize yourself with the close process, reporting calendar, controls, and any relevant accounting systems or tools.
- Support the month-end and quarter-end close
- Identify process improvement opportunities and control improvements
- Take ownership of key projects: Take the lead on a complex accounting assessment or a new policy implementation, specifically around joint ventures, software capitalization, etc.
- Communicate effectively with leadership: Start presenting your conclusions on complex accounting issues to senior leaders via position papers.
Our new team member will need:
7+ years of experience, CPA preferred
- US GAAP & Reporting experience: A strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting requirements is fundamental.
- Technical Research & Documentation: The ability to research and thoroughly document complex technical accounting issues and the positions taken on new accounting standards
- Complex Transactions: Experience in accounting for complex transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions (M&A), business combinations, and revenue recognition, is highly valued.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Proficiency in preparing financial statements and understanding disclosure requirements is necessary.
- Critical Thinking: The ability to think critically and apply sound judgment to challenging accounting problems is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills are needed to support decision-making and resolve issues.
- Problem Solving: A proactive and creative approach to identifying and solving complex accounting problems is a significant asset.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks, is a must.
- Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software and data analysis tools, such as advanced Excel skills, is required.
- Regulatory Compliance: A solid understanding of regulatory compliance and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act is beneficial.
Compensation
$150,000 - $190,000
This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
