ABOUT SYNTHBEE
SynthBee was founded to build safe, scalable, and reliable Collaborative Intelligence™ to amplify human innovation. We apply our novel computing intelligence platform to complex, mission-critical systems across healthcare, defense, aerospace, automotive, robotics, security, climate, and more—for customers who demand reliability, transparency, and ethics above all.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Software Developer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting tech leadership by participating in the design, development, and testing of foundational software that supports Synthbee’s Collaborative Intelligence™ platform. You will build the SynthBee’s infrastructure and applications that support key ML initiatives, ensuring their successful integration into the platform. This role requires a strong foundation in agile software system development and ML principles, with a focus on writing documentation for the software development process, ensuring reliability, and aligning systems with business goals. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and support the seamless operation of ML-powered applications.
Schedule: Full time employment, with occasional need for after-hours work or weekend support in a startup environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Strategic AI Orchestration: Proven ability to define the strategy for integrating agentic systems into complex engineering lifecycles, ensuring AI models accurately interpret and execute multi-stage workflows.
- Algorithmic Validation and Governance: Expert capacity to design "human-in-the-loop" and automated feedback systems that empower AI to self-validate, identifying and correcting semantic or procedural misinterpretations within specialized engineering design patterns.
- Cross-Disciplinary Workflow Synthesis: Demonstrated leadership in aligning agentic reasoning with the rigorous logic of real-world applications, ensuring the AI maintains high-fidelity comprehension of constraints and interdependencies in physical engineering systems.
- Research-Driven Systems Evolution: Ability to translate emerging trends in agentic autonomy and model reasoning into scalable internal frameworks, proactively addressing gaps where AI-driven automation may diverge from engineering intent or safety standards.
- Software Development: Experience building and advocating strong CI/CD strategies including deployment automation, testing strategies, automation tools, and processes meant to improve the software development lifecycle. Assist in the design, and architecture of new software solutions to fulfill project requirements.
- Continuous Integration Systems: Runs and operates continuous integration systems like GitHub, Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, and others.
- Performance Testing: Design testing strategy in partnership with cross-functional partners to monitor performance and ensure robust and secure deployment practices to enhance system reliability and scalability.
- Collaboration and Alignment: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful delivery of ML initiatives.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for ML systems, pipelines, and processes to ensure reproducibility and clarity. Contribute to the team’s technical growth by sharing insights and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay updated on front-end and back end application technologies and frameworks, databases, and other technological tools.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Develop ML systems that comply with security and regulatory standards, particularly in handling sensitive data and critical applications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Deep Technical Stack Sovereignty: 5-8+ years of experience and mastery across diverse data persistence layers (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), high-availability infrastructure (Apache/Nginx), and the ability to champion user-centric design systems at scale.
- Systemic Resilience: Distinguished skills in root-cause analysis, high-stakes debugging, and proactive performance engineering for mission-critical, complex distributed systems.
- Strategic Project Ownership: Proven ability to orchestrate and deliver high-impact, cross-functional initiatives, aligning multi-disciplinary teams with long-term technical roadmaps.
- Scalable Infrastructure Evolution: Capacity to engineer extensible infrastructure and foundational features that anticipate and scale with rapidly evolving global business requirements.
- Operational Excellence: Demonstrated ability to build high reliability and horizontally scalable systems, while institutionalizing rigorous code quality and design patterns across the engineering org.
