ABOUT THE ROLE

As an FDE Systems Engineer - Industrial focused in CAD Design, you will act as the primary link between SynthBee’s agentic technologies and the rigorous geometric and engineering standards of our Industrial and Heavy Machinery partners.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Physical Grounding of AI: Provide the domain expertise to ensure SynthBee’s agentic systems produce designs that are physically viable.
• Understanding of Manufacturing tools and workstreams: Ability to translate between cross-functional team and have high level engineering conversations around DCA unlocks from the core product and developing implementation strategies alongside demo presentations with the customer.
• Design for Manufacturability (DfM) Oversight: Review generated geometry to ensure compatibility with machining tool-paths, mold draft angles, or sheet metal bend radii.
• Cross-Functional Translation: Act as the "translator" between SynthBee’s Software/ML teams and the client’s mechanical engineering, design, and product teams.
• Advanced CAE/FEA Expertise: Understanding of structural analysis and simulation-driven design. Proven ability to interpret complex FEA results (Abaqus, ANSA, Ansys, LS-Dyna, or NASTRAN) and translate them into actionable design modifications.
• Root Cause Analysis: Utilize engineering fundamentals to troubleshoot system-level failures in the field, bridging the gap between digital predictions and physical hardware outcomes.

Soft Skills: High tolerance for ambiguity, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the communication skills required to articulate technical trade-offs to non-technical business leaders.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Technical Customer Liaison: Ability to communicate complex mechanical trade-offs to both stakeholders, engineering and manufacturing leadership, and software developers.
• Client-Specific Verification & Validation: Participated in the development and execution of V&V strategies to ensure the final product is verified against technical specs and validated for the client's use. Familiar with generating the rigorous testing documentation required to definitively prove client requirements have been satisfied.
• Heavy Machinery Regulatory & Quality Familiarity: Hands-on experience working within stringent Quality Management Systems (such as ISO 9001 or AS9100) and industry safety standards enforced by agencies like OSHA, MSHA, or the EU Machinery Directive. Working knowledge of applying overarching frameworks alongside domain-specific standards like ISO 13849 (Safety-related parts of control systems) and ISO 12100 (Risk assessment).
• CAD Tooling & Design Familiarity: Technical proficiency in industry-standard CAD platforms (SolidWorks, CATIA, CREO, NX) to facilitate the seamless transfer of geometric data between design tools, to guide client-side design adjustments and partner with Forward Deployed Engineers to ensure compatibility with the deployment of agentic software systems.
• Deep Manufacturing Literacy: Hands-on experience designing for and simulating at least two of the following: High-speed machining, Sheet Metal (stamping/pressing), Injection Molding, or Additive Manufacturing. You understand how residual stress, spring-back, and flow lines affect part performance.
• Mechanical & Product Design: Extensive experience in full-lifecycle mechanical design, moving from conceptual sketches to production-ready, complex structural assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Software Literacy: Understanding of Software Engineering fundamentals (Git, Python, Java, Go, Typescript) and how ML models interface with agentic software systems.
• PLM & Data Integrity: Experience managing complex BOMs and requirement architectures within PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, or Enovia).

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a full-time, in-person role at SynthBee HQ in Pembroke Pines, FL, Monday through Friday. The role requires extended periods of computer use, research, and code development. Our office is a dynamic, high-energy environment built for the kind of deep collaboration and creative problem-solving that thrives in person.
