The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our growing team and have a strong preference for this position to be based at our worldwide corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In this role, the Cloud Engineer is responsible for providing consultative, design and implementation services for CloudHesive’s customers. The scope of these services, while primarily focused on public cloud computing (Amazon Web Services to be specific), will vary from Information Security to Infrastructure (Server, Serverless, Container) to specific AWS services such as Amazon Connect, Amazon Workspaces or Amazon Media Services.

What you’ll be doing:

Intimately understand our IaaS, Paas and SaaS offerings. Our offerings are based on industry standard public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
Implement new customers. This can range from quick implementations on our SaaS solutions to larger projects where we are either migrating a customer’s environment from On-Premise to the Public Cloud, taking over management responsibility of an environment already on the Public Cloud or optimizing such an environment
Be a technical subject matter expert on our platform. In addition to guiding our customers through their implementation, this knowledge will be used contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our products, services, and back-office operations as well as support ongoing sales efforts.
Operate with a High Sense of Urgency. This role entails supporting business critical applications, with stringent SLAs
May require up to 25% travel within the United States to customer sites
Given the nature of our customers some after-core-business-hours activities may be required, e.g., a migration activity
Is this role for you?

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and/or 8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8+ years of hands-on experience in a specific technology practice (Infrastructure, Network, Storage, Servers, Security, Windows, Linux, etc.)
Experience in a customer facing role (professional services, support, etc.) and the ability to manage customer relationships up to the senior/executive level
Experience in designing, building or supporting a hosted product/service
Experience with Microsoft Office including Visio and Project
Written and oral communication skills – ability to communicate technical concepts and support assertions with data
Organizational skills – ability to coordinate and prioritize many issues simultaneously
Analytical/Problem solving ability – ability to quickly evaluate an issue, resolve it or implement a workaround with consistent accuracy and success
Experience with a Public Cloud Provider (IaaS and PaaS) such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, GCP, and/or Virtualization Technologies such as Xen, HyperV or vSphere
Experience (including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, tuning and scripting, Python, PowerShell, Javascript, PHP) with Windows and/or a common Linux distribution.
Experience with trouble shooting infrastructure components such as Servers, Storage, Networking (Routing, Subnetting, Firewalls, Dedicated Circuits or IPSEC based VPNs)
Experience (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, tuning) with an Application or Web Server such as Tomcat, Websphere, Weblogic, JBOSS, IIS or Apache
Experience with a major database or data analytics platform such as Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL or MySQL
Experience in working directly with customer technical teams to drive initiatives, be the subject matter expert for projects, and technical point of contact
Periodically engage with the technical community via Pull Requests, Blog Posts, Social Media, Webinars, Meet Ups, etc.
Attain and/or Retain relevant Certifications (Amazon Web Services)
Commit to continuous learning via reading technical documentation, participating in Webinars or other such events.
