Position Specific Description

This position is for an individual contributor reporting to the Transmission Application functional team under the Transmission & Substation (T&S) Grid Control Systems organization responsible for support of projects related to grid control applications. This position will be responsible for the maintenance and support of transmission/distribution reliability and generation control and dispatch applications. It will also be responsible for the maintenance and support of SCADA-related applications, alarm monitor applications, other real-time situational awareness tools, and all of the applications that provide data/information to/from the grid control applications (i. e., application interfaces) and for maintenance and support for various transmission and distribution applications. This position will also support relational database applications and will be asked to use SQL to fulfill various data requests. This position will also be assisting with the implementation and support of the new Outage Management system. The candidate will work with Kubernetes and other micro services and DevOps technologies and methods to support new and emerging software and applications.

The end results from the effort put in by a person in this position include, but not limited to the following: (a) highly available Grid Control Systems (or Emerging Technology) and applications that meet or exceed development or operational targets, (b) compliant cyber security and protection processes of Grid Control Systems (or Emerging Technology) and applications, (c) strong customer relationships to the organization’s internal and external customers, and (d) efficient execution of work plan and related activities in the systems development and/or maintenance and support of Grid Control Systems (or Emerging Technology) and applications to meet or exceed objectives.

Job Overview
The position is responsible for the planning, development, application architecture, engineering, implementation, and operations of grid monitoring and control systems and corresponding applications.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develops systems including modifying, commissioning, and/or decommissioning the associated applications, programs, and software
Supports department emerging technologies strategic opportunities and solutions
Coordinates or individually contributes to assigned work plans
Executes systems planning, systems development, operational, and maintenance activities of the systems and applications
Performs work tasks to ensure reliable performance (availability and integrity) or project delivery of systems and applications
Supports and executes the requirements of Florida Reliability Coordinating Council (FRCC) Reliability Coordinator Operations
Ensures compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) Reliability Standards
Executes Operational Excellence goals and initiatives
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
