JOB SUMMARY

The eCommerce Development Lead is responsible for the technical design, implementation, and support for Garden of Life’s rapidly evolving Ecommerce business. Position collaborates with business partners, IT, and third party vendors to develop solutions and experiences that drive sales and brand awareness with consumers and meet business and system requirements. Position also serves as the Magento platform lead which includes managing its extensions and integrations with Garden of Life systems, development process, vendor management, defect resolution, and enhancements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Drive eCommerce development projects by guiding solutions, sprint planning, and development activities to obtain successful project delivery and high level of code quality. Collaborate with Applications Developers, Business Analysts, Testing Lead, and other internal and external teams to determine solution options that meet requirements, define sprint goals, objectives, and plans, and lead development efforts including managing vendor relationships and budget. Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
Maintain integrity of code and ensure technical compliance with cross-functional system requirements. Ensure technical requirements are clear and complete while navigating and facilitating the discovery and solutioning during development. Ensure solutions to new enhancements integrate with and/or support existing site capabilities. Assist with eCommerce security and user access (i.e., creating and removing users and responsibilities).
Serve as Magento lead for the site when troubleshooting problems with system integrations and third party systems. Act as the first line of defense for issues on the site or between systems connected with Magento including daily corrections. Analyze and resolve issues or provide guidance on resolution. Ensure back-end is operating as designed and develop enhancements to streamline and create efficiencies.
Website hosting and monitoring strategy, execution, and overall web health metrics. Partner with the business to deliver on technical aspects of SEO, specifically responsible for improving site speed to drive an enhanced user experience and conversion rate.
Manage configurations and third party module activation. Partner with the business to ensure the configurations are delivering on the user experience and KPIs. Transition capability knowledgebase to appropriate eCommerce team members for day-to-day management of the site.
Lead and create efficiency in the development and release management process. Drive continued evolution of roles, tools, and processes to enable efficient scale and speed.
Act as the subject matter expert for Magento and the supporting marketing technology stack. Drive and enable innovative solutions to address business and consumer needs. Other duties as requested.
EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years’ Magento experience, including Magento 2 experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in full-stack development of production web applications
Minimum 3 years’ experience leading the development and implementation of complex software development projects
Experience with Magento Cloud, Platform.sh cloud DevOps platforms a plus
Experience completing codebase audits, preparing management reports, and remediation plans
SPECIFIC OR ADDITIONAL SKILLS

DevOps knowledge and automation for building, testing, and releasing web applications
Strong technical knowledge of Magento 2
Strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and a willingness to ask questions and share insights and best practices
Strong command of Javascript, Node.js, PHP, and XHR/AJAX
Functional and technical knowledge of Git for version control
Familiarity with CSS and HTML design standards
Ability to use debugger tools such as xDebug or Zend Debugger
Familiarity with Magento Cloud/AWS
Familiarity with Fastly and New Relic
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES, ETC.

Magento Developer, Developer Plus certifications preferred
