TITLE: DIRECTOR – INFRASTRUCTURE & SYSTEMS SUPPORT

LOCATION: WEST PALM BEACH (District Office)

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree, with degree preferred in computer technology, information systems or related field.

2. Minimum of seven (7) years successful experience in leading, supervising and administering a large organization’s information system and communications network infrastructure.

3. Demonstrated experience in directing activities in the areas of telecommunications, centralized

technologies and distributed technologies.

4. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement enterprise network systems, hardware and software to ensure District-wide and global connectivity.

5. Demonstrated ability to manage major projects, including change management, best practices deployment and implementation, quality assurance, and progressive vision as applied to the evolving fields of computer technology and information services.

6. Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) (certification preferred) with respect to information systems and network communications infrastructure in a multi-platform environment.

7. Strong Emotional Intelligence with demonstrated management skills, e.g., budget development and administration, policy development and implementation, personnel administration, staff training and development.

8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, effective written and oral communication skills.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:

1. Provides Infrastructure and Systems Support leadership in planning and implementation of major functional, programmatic, systematic, and other technology and re-engineering initiatives of the department, division and District.

2. Exercises leadership, initiative and independent judgment in determining priorities and standards, including the methods, schedules and processes by which goals and objectives are met.

3. Researches, develops and implements department policies and procedures consistent with current ITIL frameworks and best practices including Change Management, and Problem Management.

4. Develops short and long-term department objectives and develops overall strategies and long-range plans; seeks management support and direction accordingly.

5. Performs personnel management duties, i.e., recommending hire, discipline, and promotion; facilitating staff training and development; conducting performance evaluations; team building.

6. Develops and administers budget(s) for functional areas of responsibility; ensures adherence to established budgetary parameters and requirements.

7. Provides project management and leadership to staff and external resources in support of established goals and objectives, improved efficiencies, and problem resolution.

8. Oversees the development, maintenance, testing, linkage, monitoring and repair of District equipment.

9. Directs the process of upgrading operating systems and applications, as needed, to ensure availability of parts and software support.

10. Ensures accomplishment of all objectives in accordance with District policies, procedures, and strategic direction, as well as regulatory standards governing the industry.

11. Maintains current knowledge of industry and regulatory trends and developments for application to responsibilities under charge.
