Who You’ll Work With
The Workday Financials Principal is a member of Slalom’s Enterprise team, working in partnership with our clients to ensure maximum value out of their Workday investment.
Slalom Workday Consultants work in partnership with our clients to ensure maximum value out of their Workday investment. Workday consultants serve as subject matter experts in a variety of strategic and high-impact projects, guiding clients from strategic planning to implementation and sustainment. You will also support Workday customers at every stage of the lifecycle including early strategy, selection and readiness, implementation, and ensuring continued success after go-live.
We are seeking an experienced Workday Financials Lead to join our team and play a critical role in engaging with clients, estimating project scope and architecting and delivering on projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Workday Financials implementations and ongoing support, a strong understanding of client business drivers, and the ability to translate client requests into thoughtful and value-driven solutions. The candidate also has been in the role of the Financial Accounting Lead and FDM lead on engagements. This role partners closely with sales to guide the client through complex requests, crafting tailored solutions, and delivering high-impact sales collateral that resonates.
This role may be based in any of our Slalom office locations.

What You’ll Do
- Work with clients to understand strategic objectives related to Workday Financials including requirements gathering, business process and functional design, data strategy tailored to our clients unique needs
- Implement initiatives related to the client overall Finance Transformation objectives
- Lead FDM design on an engagement
- Support client in all the phases of the implementation including phase 0 readiness activities, health check assessments, phase 1 and phase X deployments
- Lead process re-design efforts by guiding clients to define outcomes and work backward to define the process and cross-functional touchpoints
- Support clients in post-production assessment and enhancement opportunities
- Mentor other Workday Financials team members
- Prepare and support client in delivering Workday Fins training to end users
- Collaborate across Slalom practices and offices to deliver a holistic and coordinated solution
- Act as a client advocate and trusted adviser
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday Financials functional implementation experience
- Workday Financials Implementer certification in at least 1 area (Record to Report, Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay)
- Strong experience in Workday FDM design
- Strong understanding of Workday Methodology
- 5+ years Financials ERP and/or Accounting experience
- Proven ability to influence a wide variety of audiences - technical and business clients, Finance functions, and all levels of employees
- Proven ability to see around corners thinking about both the big picture and individual client needs
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales and delivery
