Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Marine Operations Team – Fleet Optimization has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Director, Business Process Optimization reporting to the AVP, Global Marine Operations Strategy.
This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Director of Business Process Optimization to drive efficiency, productivity, and performance across the organization by optimizing business processes. Please note that this is NOT an IT or tech position.
In this position, you would lead cross-functional initiatives, apply structured methodologies, and manage a team of process professionals to deliver measurable improvements. This role requires a strong background in consulting and process improvement, with the ability to drive transformation through collaboration, innovation, and execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Process Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive business process optimization strategy aligned with department strategy, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Process Analysis and Innovation: Lead assessments of existing workflows, systems, and processes through mapping, gap analysis, and benchmarking to identify opportunities for streamlining, automation, and value creation.
- Methodology Application: Champion the use of Lean Six Sigma and other proven consulting methodologies to standardize, optimize, and sustain process improvements across functions.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of process improvement professionals. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful project delivery and professional growth.
- Project and Change Management: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Oversee change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption and organizational alignment.
- Technology and Automation: Collaborate with systems team to leverage technology and automation solutions for process optimization.
- Performance Measurement: Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate the success of process initiatives, identify areas for further improvement, and quantify benefits realized.
- Industry and Best Practices: Stay abreast of emerging trends, tools, and best practices in business process optimization to continually elevate organizational capabilities.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Proven experience in business process optimization, including consulting engagements across industries.
- Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated success in leading consulting-style projects, including stakeholder facilitation, time studies, and solution testing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational transformation.
- Proficient in process mapping, workflow analysis, and automation technologies.
- Business acumen with a strategic mindset and a passion for driving organizational excellence.
