Position Summary:

This role is responsible for leading and coordinating security for facilities in Miami, FL and internationally as well as security efforts for RCG special events around the world. You will ensure RCG employees, visitors, property, and assets remain protected and secure.

The Sr. Manager of Physical and Asset Protection will manage processes to protect company assets, people, and brands. The incumbent provides an operational focus on workplace and physical security programs and investigations. The duties include managing physical security, access control, personal security, and contract security functions throughout the Company’s footprints in all company owned or leased facilities. The Manager will evaluate and make recommendations regarding access control technology, installation, and use for existing and new build facilities. Additionally, in this role, the Sr. Manager will liaison with contractors and facilities maintenance to provide security expertise during the construction phases of all facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage badging, access control systems, and special access programs; deploy and monitor state-of-the-art security systems (intrusion detection, visitor management, weapons detection); ensure compliance with operational and CCTV audits; and oversee physical security tools (CCTV, RFID, EAS, Access Control, Guards).
  • Design and oversee the installation of security systems for existing and new facilities, partnering with facilities, engineering, and construction teams to plan and establish physical security requirements.
  • The Sr. Manager should have business acumen to prepare requests for proposals for contracted security services, staff allocation, and the ability to conduct cost analysis for staff and equipment.
  • Conduct in-depth risk and vulnerability assessments to determine company footprint physical and technical security gaps, deficiencies, and remediation strategies.
  • Partner with Investigations, Company Managers, Human Resources, and Finance to coordinate investigative activities with the Investigations Manager and internal stakeholders, including Legal.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective crime-prevention solutions to deter threats and reduce perimeter vulnerabilities through leveraging physical security barriers.
  • Provide direction and guidance to security operations personnel to devise effective facility protection systems and help mitigate loss in the company facility locations.
  • Work with the Technology Department to develop next-generation physical and technical security tools to ensure compliance with the enterprise architecture.
  • Responsible for safeguarding and preventing loss of critical information and assets through the employment of safes, CCTV, alarms, intrusion detection systems, storage containers, locking systems, and security measures applicable to transporting and shipping requirements.
  • Partners with Security Managers, Human Resources, and General Counsel regarding the background investigation process.
  • Prepare quantitative and qualitative physical security reports for Security Department management and executive leadership.
  • Train subordinate security professionals or other organization members in security rules and procedures.
  • Liaise and coordinate security operations or activities with public law enforcement, fire and other agencies.
  • Plan security assets, staffing, and management for special and high-risk events to include providing personal security in all Corporate Meetings and Events, provide security to Corporate Executives, and work within the Situational Management footprint to provide Security and Access Control to the Command Center as directed.
  • Coordinate regular training exercises for all facilities to include fire drills, active shooter, and security protocols.
  • Prepare and manage a standing Facilities Security Plan in collaboration with all company business partners, law enforcement, and security personnel.
  • Collect and analyze security data to determine security needs, security program goals, or program accomplishments. Assess security risks and ensure that proportionate measures are in place to protect employees, visitors, buildings, and reputation.
  • Develop and implement security standards, policies and procedures for all RCL campuses, call centers, and operations centers. Be responsible for the operational delivery and communication of those security policies, procedures and practices.
  • Conduct physical examinations of all RCL properties to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations. Ensure that each layer of security is audited and maintained to an appropriate level.
  • Develop, review, and/or revise security-related documentation, such as post orders, incident reports, proposals, tactical or strategic initiatives. Ensure that operational security decisions are correctly recorded and stored, with due regard to sensitivity and information security. Ensure that weaknesses and breaches are reported upwards.
  • Ensure effective (front-line) contracts for security services and systems are efficiently and effectively managed on a day-to-day basis. Recommend changes to the contracts and delivery of services to provide modern innovative services.
  • Hold regular meetings with the service providers and ensure that reports are prepared to assist during contract review meetings.
  • Oversee the company’s response to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms.
  • Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems using established protocols.
  • Supervise subordinate security professionals, performing activities such as hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, or disciplining.
  • Develop RFP’s and manage budgets for security operations.
  • Assist in emergency management and contingency planning.
  • Develop Facility Protection SOPs and training and awareness programs
  • Manage workplace security eLearning training programs and related incident response programs
  • Oversee investigations and interviews and incident management for facilities locally and globally
  • Guide collaborations to support an integrated approach to Asset Protection programs (Operations, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Legal, etc.)
  • Manage 24/7 incident escalation efforts, ensuring response to all issues
  • Manage information flow and activities within the department
  • Manage expenses to achieve department fiscal budget goals
  • Foster a sense of teamwork throughout the organization
  • Develop employees to attain developmental and organizational goals

Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements department’s strategic plan in accordance with Corporate’s overall strategic plan.
  • Plans, develop and prioritize projects and weekly work plans; ensure that materials are ordered, projects are designed and planned, and monies are available.
  • Maintains current knowledge in the field of facilities management/maintenance/security.
  • Establishes, implements and updates facility/security related policies and procedures; complies with Federal, state and local laws and regulations; follows all safety precautions/standards and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable building and safety codes, OSHA, etc.
  • Monitors campus emergencies, including equipment breakdowns, malfunctions and alarm calls.
  • Manages and supervises department staff including, but not limited to, working supervisors, ground workers, custodial staff, clerical staff, shipping and receiving and security personnel.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the campus fire alarm systems and fire protection systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating as needed a comprehensive safety plan, a process for facilities opening and lock-down, and an emergency notification procedure.
  • Responsible for security and other operational concerns for campus parking areas.
  • Maintain effective communication with all local, state, and Federal law enforcement officials.
  • Investigate and report criminal incidents to municipal authorities, while maintaining information on all criminal activities in facilities.
  • Makes routine foot patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and parking lots, to always maintain a high degree of visibility to identify and mitigate security gaps.
  • Manage crowd control with security assets, as required.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information exposed to during business regarding, supervisors or other employees.
  • Contributes to a safe working environment by participating in all drills and training and being prepared to act should a health or safety emergency occur.
  • Requires the kind of teamwork, supervision, and personal interaction, which cannot be had in a home office situation: therefore, regular and predictable on-site attendance is a job requirement.
  • Ability to travel to all locations including internationally for RCG site inspections and audit

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in law enforcement, private/corporate security, intelligence community, or military experience in conducting security compliance program activities as defined in the Security Department Framework document.
  • Experience with managing, vetting, and directing security integrator vendor firms to support security responsibility.
  • Experience in managing private security contracts
  • Experience in emergency management procedures development through multiple local and global facilities.
  • Experience in close/executive protection
  • Experience in New Build Facility Security processes and functions.

Knowledge And Skills:

  • Ability to inspire, lead and motivate subordinate staff in the performance of their duties.
  • Ability to delegate appropriately to deliver effective results on the ground, providing high levels of support and guidance but ensuring employees are empowered to manage their areas of responsibility.
