The Royal Caribbean Group’s Celebrity Hotel Operations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Onboard Revenue Commercial Strategy & Analytics reporting to the Dir, OBR Strat & Performance & Pre-Cruise.

Position Summary:

The Manager of Commercial Strategy & Analytics will join a dynamic team responsible for leading the development and execution of comprehensive data-driven commercial strategies for Celebrity Cruises Onboard Revenue, the growth engine of the cruise industry’s preferred premium brand.

The ideal candidate will manage high-value, complex projects, working closely with cross-functional teams, including product strategy, consumer insights, corporate strategy, sister brands across the enterprise, loyalty, sales, marketing, finance, pricing, hotel operations, digital operations and data science.

This position will design, advise, and implement strategic recommendations, performance assessments and forward-looking proposals to achieve +$1billion in onboard revenue that includes, but is not limited to, tour revenue, private island experiences, pre and post vacation packages, beverage, dining, internet, spa, retail, photo, and other onboard experiences for pay.

The skills of the Manager will emphasize (1) leading stakeholders across disciplines to quarterback projects, (2) advanced business problem solving and data mining, (3) directly managing teams through the framing and execution of analyses, (4) succinctly synthesizing recommendations, and (5) communicating findings (via briefings, memo, and decks) to senior leadership.

This role will directly lead a team of two top-tier senior, business-minded and technically-talented data analysts. Data mining skills are highly desired (i.e., SQL, PowerBI) to coach and validate analyst output. The role will also regularly interface and work with external stakeholders / consultants on high profile projects – experience on contributing to high performing teams is highly desired.

This role will report into a team of strategy consulting alumni and industry veterans who are dedicated to a high-touch professional development model with the aim of mentoring future leaders for Celebrity brand and across Royal Caribbean Group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Commercial data architecture centered on the guest (in collaboartion with product owners) to maximize greatest insight – candidate should be excited by opportunity to bring structure and logic to mapping large volumes of transactional data
  2. Strategic projects across onboard revenue areas (i.e., Shorex Commercial & Inventory across key regions; Precruise & A La Carte F&B Sales) focused on optimizing market positioning and profitability founded on efforts to organize and mine high volumes of transactional data
  3. Definition and coordination of commercial requirements for designing Digital assets that support onboard revenue (i.e., new site, app functionality to drive sales)
  4. Underwriting of capital projects (i.e., understanding of foundational corporate finance is required to underwrite multi-million-dollar ship investments)
  5. Digital launch and continuous improvement of Celebrity’s personalized retailing strategy – i.e., analyzing BIG data, to recommend and refresh one-to-one guest offers and integrate program across channels
  6. Collection and tracking of commercial KPIs in-line with OBR strategy

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) with a degree focus in Business, Finance, Economics or other quantitative discipline preferred.

  • Masters Degree highly preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience and/or training in an analytics or quantitative discipline required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years’ in a role or project that developed, led and/or recommended a strategic framework or strategy for a brand or profit center. Strategy consulting background, a plus.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and revenue management systems.

  • High Proficiency in SQL/Databricks, PowerBI

  • Proficiency in market research, competitive analysis, and revenue management techniques

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.

  • Ability to remain flexible and calm in high-pressure situations and adjust as multiple moving parts consistently change.

  • Experience on a high-performing operational team.

  • Experience in overseeing complex project execution and project management teams.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (i.e., ship visits)

Financial/Quantitative Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning for growing onboard revenue of the brand that represents 30% of the brands profitability.
  • Business case recommendations for new class of ships and investments of the brands that ranges in millions plus of investments.
  • Tracking and reporting on investment and capital projects ranging from $1M to double digit million projects.
  • Responsible over the profit margins for this business and to stay aligned with the profitability goals of the brand.
  • Availability to work on-site at Port of Miami offices Monday-Thursday; Friday WFH
