Position Summary:
Responsible for Incentive and large contract group sales for Travel Agencies. Requires not only reactive actions towards inbound calls, but also proactive efforts to follow up on open business as well as generate and probe for new leads and potential new sales opportunities. Responsible for calculating cost to produce maximum yields that meets clients’ needs while meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
This position will report onsite in Miami, FL
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In a Sales environment, receives or places telephone calls to Travel Companies to negotiate, quote and close business.
- Proactively makes outbound contacts with our customers (or potential news ones) to follow up on lead generations
- Interprets price requirements from Revenue Management and calculates cost to produce maximum yields that meet clients need while meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Works with Market Sales Managers to keep them informed of account activities and close the business.
- Qualifies client needs and presents alternatives to secure the business.
- Responsible for generating contracts for all affinity/promotional groups in excess of 99 staterooms.
- Makes outbound follow up calls on expired options or options about to expire.
- Handles inbound sales lead and convert calls into sales or leads for Market Sales Managers.
- Networks with all relevant internal departments to action requests and complete tasks.
- Reviews all contract policies and verifies group booking accounts for agreed upon program. Facilitate some site inspections to close on potential business as needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Must have the ability to analyze problems and follow a logical course for its resolution.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Must be able to view a situation from all angles and determine the best course of actions, considering all details. Three years customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and writing skills required.
- Previous cruise line or travel industry experience preferred.
- Able to travel and assist on in-person sales calls as required
- Ability to write reports, memos and business correspondence. Ability to read and comprehend complicated instructions, short correspondence, memos and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to work, interact, and communicate with external/internal customers at all levels. Ability to build and maintain successful business relationships with the most valued external customers as well as co-workers in order to successfully close business and service customer’s needs.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages. Ability to understand and explain a complex group accounting.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to understand and communication government regulations.
- Ability to make decisions in situations where multiple variables and tight deadlines exist, assess complex situations and make mutually beneficial decisions where limited standardization exists, and assess the most complex and non-routine situations.
- Knowledge of AS400 or similar reservations system required. Siebel, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes experience preferred.
