Royal Caribbean Group’s Hotel Operations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Entertainment Strategy and Analytics reporting to the Senior Director, Entertainment Operations and Strategy.
This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida
Position Summary:
As a key member of the Royal Caribbean Entertainment team, you would manage the Entertainment department’s business strategy as it pertains to real-time strategic projects, initiatives and objectives, resource management and development, financial analysis and reporting for both shipboard and shoreside operations. This position is responsible for supporting the Entertainment Department’s operational organization with day-to-day analytics and supporting shoreside Entertainment leaders to ensure objectives are met. You would work across a matrix of networks of business areas developing the department’s strategic plans in support of continuous improvement and development. This position offers value driven perspective on projects and analysis and is the point person for the department’s key strategies; works to identify opportunities within processes and to improve results. You would also work closely with leadership to prepare comprehensive positioning, strategy and planning documents including white papers and presentations to drive efficiencies, program development, department innovations and strategic initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with Entertainment leadership in development of long-range planning and objectives.
- Identifies operational trends and opportunities as it pertains to corporate strategies and department goals.
- Closely partners with corporate counterparts and provides guidance on strategic needs.
- Develops strategies focused on efficiencies and optimizations.
- Continually assesses department opportunities and promotes actionable proposal to address them.
- Develops and communicates business strategy.
- Supports the department’s agenda for entertainment development on current and future newbuilds.
- Manages department’s strategic operational presentations.
- Works with Entertainment leaders on the preparation, analysis and communication of departmental annual budget and monthly forecasts for all areas.
- Oversees weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly trend reports, provides feedback and issues recommendations on required and necessary action items.
- Oversees analysis of department’s monthly financial results.
- Supports financial initiatives and cost optimization opportunities.
- Supports Entertainment leadership when creating and submitting Entertainment Operating Plan, Owner Supply, Financial Forecasts and Analysis.
- Works with the finance department on meeting corporate financial department deadlines.
- Manages PRS and other licensed calculations, submissions and supports payment processing.
- Supports licensing and royalty accruals, calculations and payments.
- Works as liaison between newbuild finance and the Entertainment department regarding owner supply status updates.
- Manages Medallia Entertainment data and analytics for all Entertainment areas. Prepares weekly, monthly and yearly reports identifying trends and issuing recommendations.
- Manages development and supports operations for all internal Entertainment databases including but not limited to: EMS, MMS, TMS, CTMS.
- Oversees Entertainment databases enhancements, changes and optimizations.
- Manages Entertainment vendor payments through databases including but not limited to: MMS, TMS, CTMS.
- Develops, implements, and coordinates policies and programs that affect the business operations for the Entertainment Department.
- Works with Hotel Operations, Finance, HR and Safety and Quality Management System (SQM) as required.
- Manages strategic departmental duties such as spending tracking, ratings, targets etc.
- Prepares senior executive level presentations.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of finance and/or business analysis experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations required, experience in the Entertainment industry preferred.
- Cruise and/or travel industry experience preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, financial, conceptual, planning, and strategic thinking.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, contracts, legal documents and technical reports.
- Experience working effectively with senior management including facilitating executive level presentations.
- Experience working on highly analytical projects.
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Power Point, and Word.
- Experience in using database query tools (i.e. Power Bi or Hyperion).
- Strong legal understanding and ability to review and provide feedback on complex legal agreements including, but not limited to berthing agreements, concession agreements, operating agreements, etc.
- Strong financial modeling, P&L forecasting, and business plan analysis experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong business writing skills.

Physical Requirements:
While performing job functions, you would be regularly required to sit, stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a computer, communicate, listen, and assess information. You may move about the office complex, may travel to other office locations, and may lift, push, pull or move 10 - 15 pounds. Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus. You would occasionally be required to walk to the dock, ascend and descend the vessel. This position might travel domestically or internationally.
Working Conditions:
The work environment for this position can be loud at times due to high level of music required for run-throughs of production shows. A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard or offsite locations.
