The Royal Caribbean Group’s Workforce Strategy and Movement has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Onboarding reporting to the Senior Director CAM Operations Onboarding.
This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Onboarding, is responsible for leading and optimizing all facets of crew onboarding, documentation processing, and employee services to ensure seamless onboarding experiences across global operations. This position strategically drives resource allocation and operational efficiency while ensuring the alignment and integration of cross-functional areas within the CA) organization, as well as collaboration with key land and sea-based stakeholders. The role also involves leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team to achieve key organizational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop a diverse team of onboarding specialists and documentation coordinators, fostering an environment of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide direction, coaching, and mentorship to team members to build capabilities and support professional growth, ensuring the team remains agile and responsive to evolving business needs.
• Lead the core crew onboarding processes, including documentation verification, medical clearances, and compliance checks, ensuring a smooth and timely experience for all incoming crew members.
• Oversee the end-to-end processing of all required crew documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Scheduling, Human Resources, Marine, Hotel, and Food & Beverage, to align on crew movement strategies, deployment needs, and long-term workforce planning.
• Utilize data-driven insights to monitor, evaluate, and enhance onboarding performance, implementing best practices and process improvements to achieve operational excellence.
• Manage complex and time-sensitive cases with sound business acumen and situational judgement, serving as the escalation point for issues impacting crew readiness and deployment.
• Drive the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and service standards that enhance crew member experiences and optimize business outcomes.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting professional development and engagement within the onboarding team to enhance service delivery.
• Serve as a liaison between CAM and other corporate entities to ensure a unified approach to workforce readiness and deployment.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in crew management, onboarding, or operations, preferably within the cruise or maritime industry.
• Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, global operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focus on operational efficiency and business impact.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across all organizational levels.
