NOTE: This is a full-time in-person role based in the company’s headquarters in Miami, FL. Applicants must be available to work in Miami– Thursday, and occasionally on Fridays (some could be remote).
Position Summary:
The function of the Assistant Project Manager is to provide assistance and support to the Senior Project Manager/Senior Director with the Interior Architecture/Interior Design initiatives of the Campus Modernization. The Assistant Project Manager leads consultant teams to ensure that the design remains innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
This role involves collaborating with architect, contractor, and vendors to create spaces that align with the design/user goals set forth by the Campus Modernization team, budget constraints, and design standards. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Design + Architecture and Campus Modernization Leadership to ensure corporate standards are consistent through the construction of the project.
Project is top priority, high profile, with multi-departmental initiatives for the organization and thus require continuous communication and interaction in a fast-paced environment with the Senior Project Manager/Senior Director. The Assistant Project Manager will develop and review design solutions in the best interest of RCG. Participates in the interior design control of projects during the construction and move-in phases. This role would be the main liaison with the procurement team during procurement efforts. Supports project budget management and cost control within the interior design context.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibit understanding of architectural design process and integration of stand-alone interior projects and design concepts.
- Lead interior design efforts on behalf of RCG for project Skyline.
- Use graphic storytelling to advance the project delivery and scope.
- Develops successful consultant relationships (Architect of Record, External Design Consultants and Vendors, General Contractor, Owner’s Rep)
- Prepare in-house presentation packages and effectively collaborate with Architect’s team to achieve project understanding and approvals
- Support procurement agent during bid process with FFE reselections and vendor selections
- Lead the Art in Public Places process with Miami-Dade County project team
- Actively participate in any design reviews or charettes; may be called to lead sessions as they pertain to interiors.
- Interfaces with General Contractor, Architect of Record, Owner’s Rep to validate design intent and cost targets.
- Demonstrate strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas.
- Tracking budget vs actuals for FFE for the project
- Proactively escalate risks to the Senior Project Manager/Senior Director and project team members to avoid potential issues
- Coordinate schedule availability with all stakeholders to arrange routine coordination meetings and or reviews with decision makers as per milestone plans.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years design industry experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years managing large scale projects
- Knowledgeable with workplace / hospitality FF&E selections and standards.
- Must be experienced with AutoCAD, and Microsoft Suite. Experience a plus with Bluebeam, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator and 3D modeling V-Ray/ Rhino/Sketch-Up/N-scape
- Strong competency in interior design specifications, calculations, industry standards, and application of building codes (IBC).
- Excellent skills to analyze and develop specifications, drawings, layouts, and other technical documentation.
- Knowledgeable in programming, planning, and site analysis.
- Experience in all phases and aspects of a project.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in work output
- Demonstrates leadership skills including, but not limited to: Teamwork, a Willingness to Learn, Autonomy, Organizational Skills, Adaptability
- Must have strong communication skills and ability to communicate at the highest level of the organization, exhibiting good capabilities in written, oral, and graphic media.
- Has fundamental understanding of time management, with priorities being established by supervisor. Has strong ability to maintain focus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Interior Design or Architecture.
- Professional Certification, preferred. (i.e. NCIDQ)
