The Royal Caribbean Group’s Workforce Strategy Movement Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Director, CAM Workforce Planning reporting to the Senior Director, CAM Planning.
Position Summary:
As the Director of CAM (Crew Acquisition & Movement) Workforce Planning for the Royal Brand you will not only be responsible for setting the strategic staffing strategy for all of CAM Operations, but also coordinating with all stakeholders to keep on track and ensuring that the leadership understands where risk to the plan may exist. This position oversees the staffing of nearly 40,000 shipboard crew members across more than 250 positions and 28 ships and requires a highly effective project manager that is data driven, process focused, and an expert communicator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the creation of the end-to-end strategy for CAM Workforce Planning that includes developing the staffing demand plan for each position that looks forward at least 12 months as well as the hiring and promotion strategy to ensure the right crew members in the right position at the right time.
- Set the strategic tone for internal Workforce Planning expectations / guidelines on presentations, forecasts and other deliverables that creates “one voice” among the members.
- Create standards for validation that ensures deliverables coming from the team are accurate, transparent and defensible.
- Be in consistent communication with the leaders of Talent Acquisition (TA), Scheduling, Onboarding, HR Business Partners and Cost Center Leadership to ensure alignment of the strategic staffing strategy.
- Develop KPI’s and SLA’s that assess the efficiency of the staffing plan, identifying metrics drive the desired outcome and identifying metrics that may work against each and setting prioritization.
- Be the owner of operational risk, calling out positions and timeframes where the operation will be unable to achieve minimum staffing levels as well as leading the plan to get staffing back on track.
- Develop team members to be the next generation of leadership, helping create strategic thinkers and expert communicators.
- Own and manage meetings with key stakeholders across the enterprise to solve roadblocks or obtain approvals to execute the crew movement.
- Deliver reports to Sr. Leadership in a clear and concise manner that show a mastery of planning, identifying areas of operational risk and the path forward to get the plan back on track.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the team that forecasts and manages annual financial plan.
- Coordination with CAM Financials on a Crew Movement forecast that aligns to operational expectations and be able to explain variance to plan to the finance team.
- Reports and communicates any budget impact caused by variances in contracts, PAR or travel peaks.
- Drive cost-saving measures through effective strategy planning and project delivery.
As a member of the HR Transformation & Operations Leadership Team, this role is also responsible for:
- Ensuring policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders
- Fostering team engagement and collaboration
- Leading, coaching and developing team members
- Attracting and retaining top talent within the function
- Managing escalations, including raising to Sr. Leadership when applicable
- Managing stakeholders as well as vendor relationships and contracts
- Communicating effectively to executive team
- Role modeling the highest standards of professionalism and ethics
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Planning & Logistics, Finance, or directly related, equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience working with operations, logistics, port administration, airport operations, hotel, transportation in a planning role.
- Minimum of 5 years in a finance and/or analytical role.
- Strong data analysis skills; ability to spot both trends and outliers in large datasets
- Highly developed written and presentational skills; ability to clearly articulate complex messages to a variety of audiences, including senior management.
- Ability to plan and organize self and work to achieve objectives and targets; is determined to deliver outcomes and can overcome obstacles in order to move forward. Accountable for the delivery of outcomes, strives to meet and exceed the expectations of customers.
- Ability to set measurable goals and objectives and to implement strategies to achieve them (often prioritizing in a high-pressure environment)
- Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
