Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a risk management framework that outlines how risks will be identified, managed and mitigated cross Newbuild projects and programs,
  • Define roles and responsibilities for managing risks.
  • Identify and Assess potential risks that could impact the NewBuilding portfolio. This involves conducting comprehensive risk assessments, understanding the various factors that could pose a threat, and evaluating their potential impact on the business.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that Risk standards are met throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Collaborate with Newbuild leaders and various departments to develop effective mitigation strategies. This may involve creating contingency plans, implementing risk transfer mechanisms, or establishing risk avoidance measures to minimize the impact of identified risks.
  • Ensure that the organization complies with industry-specific regulations, internal policies, and legal requirements. This includes conducting regular audits to assess the NewBuild’s adherence to compliance standards.
  • Support with the development of systems and processes to monitor risks in real-time, providing timely reports to senior management.
  • At a NewBuild project level, regularly monitor and review the project environment for new risks or changes in the severity of existing risks
  • Conduct training sessions to educate employees about potential risks, and the importance of adhering to risk management policies.
  • Help to ensure that teams are aligned and New Build and revitalization projects are being managed appropriately for on-time delivery, adherence to business requirements and delivery within approved budget.
  • Present risk scenarios and updates to executive leaders.
  • Collaborate with site office teams to develop contingency plans for high-priority risks and identify specific actions that will be taken if a risk materializes.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in risk management.
  • After projects are completed, conduct a thorough review of the risk management process. Identify what worked well and areas for improvement. Use this information to enhance risk management practices in future projects.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead, as required, Enterprise Risk Management working sessions.
  • Ability to be hands on and personally execute on deliverables.
  • High energy and a desire to work in a results-oriented, dynamic, rapid-growth global company.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and creative in working with incomplete information.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects and communicate the progress of the projects to the team and business partners.
  • Risk Rating Tool Improvements - Work to improve and deliver enhancements to existing tools through implementing recommendations made through internal reporting/validation reporting or external benchmarking.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, business administration, Engineering or risk management. Advanced degrees, such as a master’s in risk management or an MBA, Preferred
  • Previous experience with Auditing, Risk, Quality
  • Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) Preferred
  • At least 10 years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
  • Requires knowledge of operational risk management practices for a significant, complex and/or large scale business
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and quantify risks effectively. This includes the ability to analyze financial data, market trends, and other relevant information to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
