The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead in Newbuild of Strategic Finance reporting to the Senior Director of Newbuild Finance.
This position works on-site in Miami, Florida
Position Summary:
This role offers the chance to work in a highly dynamic and innovative environment by providing critical financial support to RCG’s cutting-edge Newbuild and Innovation Organization.
The finance team is responsible for actively managing costs of the newbuild portfolio of approximately $30B on a rolling 5-year cycle related to current and future projects. The finance team supports the Newbuild Organization by providing support to its operational and strategic processes and plays a critical role in fostering strong relationships with the shipyards.
The finance team collaborates closely with the project and operational leaders to manage the project financials, risk, and opportunities. Additionally, the finance team is responsible for maintaining effective financial processes and controls across projects and creating and delivering effective financial reports that enable timely decision making and are compliant with RCG’s procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary point person between the Newbuild Finance team and Newbuild Commercial Strategy team.
- Supports Newbuild Executive leadership team by providing strategic analysis and owns plan around competitive landscape, areas of strategic focus, and growth opportunities related to our newbuild portfolio.
- Oversees financial and valuation analysis done by outside advisors and supports significant deal structuring and negotiations.
- Collaborates with the brands and corporate finance teams to understand the overall brand and corporate short- and long-term strategies at a high level and their effect on the Newbuild department going forward.
- Responsible for the completion and execution of all Newbuild exhibit Cs.
- Develops strong partnership with Legal, accounting and treasury teams.
- Support the Newbuild department’s 5-year Strategic plan as well as the yearly financial and operating plans.
- Manage the identification, tracking & management of risk items as they relate to the current and future Newbuild portfolio.
- Create financial presentations for monthly project team meetings, Newbuild executive meetings, and CFO meetings.
- Tasked with improving and evolving both new and existing process, systems and tools.
- Provides support, guidance and training to the analysts/ Sr. analysts on the team.
- Financial Control of Vessel Construction costs, Revitalizations and projects. The active portfolio is approximately $30B on a rolling 5-year cycle.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or in a technical field at a minimum; or significant and recent direct experience in FP&A role.
- Excel and financial modeling required, proficiency with Microsoft package.
- Working knowledge in Business Intelligence Visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- 6-8 years related experience.
- Candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of operational personnel.
- Positive attitude with proven history of success in project analysis, tracking & implementation.
- Ability to ask critical questions and translate business unit opportunities into clear financial models.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities with confidence and composure.
- Ability to succeed in a team environment.
- Ability to share information and work in a standardized environment.
- Understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls.
