The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager of Strategic Planning reporting to the VP of Corporate and Capital Planning.
This position works on-site in Miami, Florida
Position Summary:
Responsible for leading complex analyses, developing insights, and delivering solutions that will drive performance improvement across the enterprise. As an internal consultant to multiple areas of the company, this person will use interpersonal and analytical skills to complete projects that will be tactical or strategic in nature. Areas of focus may include revenue enhancement, cost reduction, operational efficiency, process improvement, capital project evaluation, and fleet strategy. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding analytical abilities, experience with detailed financial analysis, modeling experience, broad business acumen, and strong executive presence. Strong statistical and writing skills are desired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads initiatives to enhance company performance, functioning as an internal consultant and facilitator.
- Identifies improvement opportunities while displaying creativity, drive, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Supports near-term strategies and initiative execution and progress reporting.
- Develops strategic insights based on internal and external data and business analysis, including, but not limited to, analysis of markets, customers, and businesses, that may involve changes to the company’s operating practices and market focus.
- Uses financial analysis and other quantitative and qualitative techniques to assess a broad array of business issues and distills them into key items and proposed actions.
- Completes ad-hoc assignments and analysis as they arise, making recommendations where appropriate.
- Interfaces effectively with all levels within the organization in a manner that is collaborative and respectful.
- Bring together organizational and analytical skills in a dynamic role that thrives on behind-the-scenes effectiveness.
- Participate in the strategic planning process and strategic business initiatives from ideation to implementation.
- Work with leaders to set, track, and monitor progress on KPIs, identify potential risks and support development of mitigation plans.
- Supervises 1 direct report and supports mentorship and guidance of a pool of analysts and senior analysts.
- Internal consulting projects are enterprise-wide in scope and cross multiple brands and the full dimension of business issues.
- Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelors degree and MBA required.
- 6-8 years of business analytics or consulting experience.
- Project management and facilitation skills are required. Change management skills desired.
- Strong financial acumen with analytical/quantitative skills. Familiarity with one or more statistical/analytical tools and financial models.
- Possesses proven ability to lead teams and to lead significant cross-functional and cross-departmental initiatives.
- Knowledge of the company and the broader cruise/leisure industry, as well as in-depth familiarity with key corporate data.
- Outstanding communications skills and the ability to create and deliver presentations to senior executives and others.
- Demonstrated ability to drive significant and complex process improvement initiatives.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to digest and synthesize large amounts of data and information into executive-level reports and documents.
- Proven internal or external consulting skills and experience leading large and complex projects. Financial modeling skills preferred.
- Fast learner and who is able to link diverse sources of information to the cruise business, including the ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion.
- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.
- Proficiency with statistical/analytical tools such as Essbase, Hyperion (formerly BRIO), Hyperion Studio, SAS, and R.
