NOTE: This is a full-time in-person role based in the company’s headquarters in Miami, FL. Applicants must be available to work in Miami– Thursday, with work from home on Friday.

Position Summary:

The Manager, Deployment Strategy & Projects is responsible for strategic integration and cross functional planning to maximize the profitability of Royal Caribbean Group. This person will lead corporation’s long-term destination strategic planning and demand forecasting. This person will be the Destination Strategy team liaison with CTI, our infrastructure development JV, ensuring consistent communication flow and accurate business projections for current projects and pipeline. This dynamic leader will partner with Destination Development, Port Services, Product Development, Revenue Management, and brand leadership to ensure our long-range destination strategy is thoroughly planned and executed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating the corporation’s long-term destination strategic plan and demand forecasting.
  • Responsible for forecasting the profitability impact of every Destination Development initiative which enables the long-term deployment plan for Celebrity and Royal Caribbean
  • Supports Destination Development team with profitability analysis and financial business modeling to evaluate prospective destination investment projects.
  • Partners with Product Development to evaluate and model business cases for private destinations and port investments.
  • Liaisons with CTI, our infrastructure development JV, to ensure consistent communication flow regarding new initiatives, strategic importance, deployment and volume projections to the future business.
  • Responsible for creating a long range and competitive deployment view and reports. Including creating competitive deployment projections that will help the company understand the congestion in the next 5-10years.
  • Identifies potential cruise lines to partner with on development initiatives based on their deployment needs and trend, and projects industry volume to new developments.
  • Aggregate large and diverse data sets using Power BI, Excel, and other analytical tools
  • Lead the creation of data analysis and data visualization tools to support deployment decisions
  • Drives continuous improvement of planning and processes as well as the enhancement and creation of tools. Represent Deployment in system overhauls that deliver benefits to a variety of planning activities.
  • Responsible for interacting with various departments within Royal Caribbean Group to consolidate data from multiple data sets; analyze and understand results; and create reports, presentations and/or dashboards for the brand’s planning team.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects that provide insight into competitor deployment plans and development efforts.
  • Build and develop the critical thinking, strategic thinking, and creativity of team members

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, and MBA preferred; five to eight years of business analytics experience.
  • Itinerary planning and/or revenue management experience highly desired.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with proven ability to digest and synthesize large amounts of data and information into executive-level reports and documents.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects. Proven track record of collaborating effectively with all levels and functions in an organization.
  • Pro-active and collaborative approach.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Basic Data Mining (i.e. Hyperion)
  • Critical thinker, who demonstrates drive and a desire to improve processes where appropriate
  • Able to build good working relationships with personnel at all levels located at the corporate offices and global offices.
  • In depth knowledge of the industry, how profits are generated, and familiarity with key industry data.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required, inclusive of financial modeling.
  • Essbase and Hyperion required.
  • Requires outstanding business writing and oral communications skills and the ability to create and deliver presentations to senior executives and others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of co-workers and influence.
