NOTE: This is a full-time in-person role based in the company’s headquarters in Miami, FL. Applicants must be available to work in Miami– Thursday, with work from home on Friday. Applicants must be legal to work in the United Sates without sponsorship.
Position Summary:
The Account Manager (AM), Port Operations is responsible for supporting port operations and port development both administratively, analytically, fiscally, and logistically. The AM will also be the lead and representative for Port Operations with RCI and CEL Charter teams. The position will be responsible for the financial, logistical, and operational needs during the setup, execution, and post charter operations. The AM will also be responsible for the onboarding of current vendors, new vendors and RCG departments with ERS and will be the lead on training and ongoing support. Effective communication of information to Senior Management, other operating groups, and external vendors/stakeholders is critical to the success of this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides operational, administrative, analytical, and fiscal support related to the port agency, stevedoring and Port Operations annual financial budget, including monthly forecast.
- Processes special operating invoices associated with stevedoring according to audit and compliance guidelines. Audits and verifies all supporting backup against financial forecast/plan.
- Represents the corporation at selected governmental meetings, association functions, cruise industry events, travel industry conventions and other meetings as required.
- Performs pre-planning and operational set-up for the respective ports prior to start of season to include security, stevedoring and port agency. Identifies turnarounds that require corporate presence.
- Direct interaction with senior level shipboard management in planning turnaround operations via conference calls held prior to the season with the Hotel Director, Guest Relations Director, Guest Administration Officer, Chief Security Officer, Executive Housekeeper, and Inventory Manager. The AM will need to be in direct contact with shipboard management team throughout season regarding operational enhancements.
- Travels to turnaround locations to oversee port operations and to perform site inspections for planning purposes (approximately 20% - 30% travel).
- Monitor and evaluate turnaround operations through site inspections, Brand Quality Audits, shipboard reports, and vendor reports. Maintains constant rapport with stevedores, security and port agency on turn operations and issues. Strive for continuous improvement in operation.
- Performs special operational and analysis projects as requested. Makes recommendations to improve overall service and efficiency of operations.
- Plan, develop and execute training related to the Port Operations Electronic Requisition System (ERS) for internal and external
- Develop and foster ongoing communication between Port Operations billing team
- Lead special projects and other assignments proactively; providing support and working closely with key departments or divisions to accomplish Port Operations goals.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality business, Finance, Accounting and/or directly related experience, is required
- 3-5 years’ experience in related operations, contract negotiations, budgetary planning, vendor management and/or analysis work required.
- Shipboard experience helpful.
- Minimum of two years of Port Operations experience
- Detail oriented to ensure accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Exercise proper judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technical and business writing
- Advanced skills in computer systems, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Access
- Ability to develop tactical plans utilizing project management principles. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Software: Working knowledge of computers, internet access and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as IMS, ERS, JDE, Microsoft Office Tools and Visio.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally; approximately 20-30%
- Ability to be on call 24/7 as operationally needed includes weekend work and/or planned/unplanned travel
