Position Summary:
The corporate deployment team is part of the Finance organization of the Royal Caribbean Group. The position will influence the strategic direction and financial performance of the company and will look for synergies and opportunities for each brand to consider. This position will conduct quantitative analyses, competitive research, and market analyses to drive the strategic and detailed itinerary planning. The analyst will also Identify new ports to be considered for investment or inclusion on each brand’s respective itineraries. The level of involvement may vary from brand to brand within the group.
The role will work with the brands to confirm and execute the desired itineraries. The analyst will partner with various ports, port agents, destinations as well as several internal teams to resolve berth congestion. Will incorporate various constraints among others but including environmental, infrastructure, geopolitical, weather into the detailed planning.
There will be significant exposure to senior management with the opportunity to work closely with Operations, Shore Ex, Destination Development, Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, International and other departments within the Company.
Assignments within Deployment and Itinerary Planning will typically involve quantitative and qualitative analysis of a competitive situation, development of recommendations, and written and/or oral presentation of those recommendations to Senior Management. Assignments will vary and may include one or more of the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the development of business cases to support the strategic and tactical deployment decisions.

Development of business cases typically involve quantitative and qualitative analysis of a competitive situation, development of recommendations, and written presentation of those recommendations

Provide high level and product level analysis and optimization of profitability and guest satisfaction impact on all future deployment decisions

Research new destinations and itinerary options which support our brand specific strategic plans and utilize market research and guest feedback to maximize both market value and guest experience.

Support the creation of the detailed itineraries for each brand

Monitor and report on competitive product offerings and performance as well as macroeconomic and environmental factors impacting the cruise industry

Liaise with ports, governments, and other stakeholders in destinations around the world to guide continual improvement in the quality of destinations we offer

Resolve berthing conflicts for a specific port through discussion with the port and/or port and in coordination with internal stakeholders including shipboard executive committees

Responds to information requests from various internal stakeholders.

Prepares internal reviews of new deployment via Smartsheets and manages feedback from ship Executive Committees and various internal stakeholders

Tracks, research, recommends and executes changes to existing itineraries driven by internal and external events to enhance operational efficiency and or guest experience

Works closely with charter sales teams to validate itinerary proposals

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is required

Cruise industry knowledge and experience is preferred

Pro-active mindset and attitude

Must be able to think creatively

Must be detail oriented

Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and problem identification

Ability to operate in a cross functional environment

Willingness to accept immediate project responsibility

In-depth knowledge of the cruise industry is preferred but not as important as the desire and ability to learn quickly.

Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail is absolutely required

Excellent written and verbal English language skills and overall communication skills

Strong Excel (ability to perform pivots and vlookup), solid PowerPoint, basic Colonial/AS400, basic Hyperion On-Demand preferred.
