Position Summary:

Commercial Strategy is responsible for the strategic planning, analytics and execution of initiatives that drive profitable growth contributing to over $8B in net guest revenue per year. As the Senior Business Analyst, you will support our commercial strategy team by reporting out on business performance, perform ad-hoc analyses, aide the global markets with data insights and decision-making tools, own commercial planning sessions and deliver key strategic presentations outlining both the near and long-term plan for the Royal Caribbean International brand. You will have exposure to Senior Management and work closely with Sales, Marketing, E-Commerce, Trade Support and Service, and IT as well as various levels of executives (Directors and above). This is a high-profile role that offers a great platform to understand all areas of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for continuous analysis and reporting on promotional performance and the status of the business to Revenue Management and other teams.

  • Supports the Commercial Strategy Manager to execute key tasks, projects in areas of focus.

  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to drive and improve revenue and present to Management.

  • Help build business cases to support long-term financial impact of growth initiatives.

  • Support implementation of growth initiatives by coordinating with all necessary stakeholders including, but not limited to, Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Services, Reservations, Hotel Operations, and Legal

  • Ensure continuous improvement and refinement of all initiatives after implementation.

  • Contributes to junior members of staff development and growth through coaching and teaching.

Qualifications and Education:

To perform this position successfully, the individual should be a self-starter and be able to complete a project with little direction. Furthermore, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty in a timely and accurate manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or ability required to satisfy this position:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or master’s degree (MA) preferred but not required.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university required with focus in quantitative discipline preferred.

  • Two to four years of related experience in financial / business analysis or related field preferred. Familiarization with revenue management concepts and tools preferred.

  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of Revenue Management concepts and tools or basic economics.

  • Previous experience with Sales, Marketing, Analytics preferred but not required.

  • Ability to produce high-quality standard of work with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Brio Intelligence/Hyperion Studio, Toad Oracle SQL, PowerBI, Word, and PowerPoint required and ability to manipulate data is essential.

  • Knowledge of reservations system and revenue management data preferred but not required.

  • Attention to detail required.

  • Ability to talk to all levels with an advanced executive presence required.

  • Willingness to accept immediate project responsibility.

  • Ability to operate in a team environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated maturity.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and problem identification.

  • Ability to logically structure quantitative analyses of complex issues.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in global environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at once
