Position Summary:

This position is a key storyteller on the Corporate Communications team responsible for producing written content that educates and engages internal and external audiences and helps develop consistent messaging across a variety of channels. Outstanding writing, editing, and research skills are required for this role, as well as the ability to find the stories to be told. Top candidate will also have a firm understanding of PR practices and principles, with journalism or media experience a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates a variety of written content including feature articles, internal newsletters, Web materials, fact sheets, infographics, Q&A documents, speeches, video scripts, presentations, special projects and other materials all in the brand voice for both internal and external audiences.

  • Research, mine, develop, and write enterprise news and feature stories with a focus on elevating the company’s reputation and fostering company pride and engagement with employees.

  • Collaborate with other departments including HR, Creative Hub, and brand teams to identify both story needs and story opportunities and to execute the agreed upon content.

  • Provide copy direction and support to other teams, including HR, Finance, and the Executive Office.

  • Review other team members’ materials and suggest improvements as needed.

  • Partner with any external agencies driving content and major asset development for special projects.

  • Liaise with Legal department as needed to ensure all copy considers laws governing copy such as registered and trademarked symbols, country of origin, issues communication, etc.

  • Support team members with the development of presentations and reports.

Teamwork Responsibilities:

Partner with Team Members, Business Owners, Designers, Writers, Project Managers, and Account Executives to help ensure creative work meets all expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of BA in English, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, or related field

  • 3-5 years of professional writing experience in PR, the news media or related field

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation.

  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and project coordination skills. Proficiency in AP Style.

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to tailor writing style to suit the target audience.

  • Capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Meticulous attention to detail; clear and concise communication, commitment to producing quality product; deadline conscious and ability to work quickly and independently with tight turnaround times.

  • Familiarity with print & online media; Journalism experience a plus.

  • Software experience in Mac and Windows applications, including Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign, and Powerpoint. Experience with Salesforce and content management systems a plus.
