Responsibilities and Duties:
· Works closely with Property Management and Development clients, insurance experts, landlords, franchisees, third party vendors, and legal counsel, to oversee insurance procurements, renewals, and compliance.
· Works closely with Claims Team members, Third Party Administrators, external legal counsel, and various internal departments to oversee claim reporting, processing and communications.
· Manages the Certificate of Insurance process, working with insurance brokers and external consultants to ensure compliance.
· Reports on claims trends and assists with sourcing materials from internal partners for claim discovery requests.
· Collects underwriting data from various internal partners for insurance policy renewals and responds to deliverables from brokers for various lines of coverage.
· Assists with the insurance program renewal process by analyzing insurance program structures, historical claims data, and underwriting data to recommend structural and coverage changes based on industry best practices and exposures of the company.
· Respond to inquiries from internal and external parties on general insurance inquiries (i.e. coverage and risk management issues).
· Review vendor/client contracts and recommend appropriate types and levels of insurance coverage.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent
· Experience in an insurance related position is preferred, US & Canadian experience a plus
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Strong analytical and communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
· Experience with process improvements, Monday.com, Freshdesk is a plus
· Customer-oriented mindset with a collaborative, team-first approach to foster strong working relationships with internal and external partners
· Understanding of contracts (be able to find and translate the insurance and indemnification sections) is a plus
· Familiarity with various insurance coverages including property, general liability, and workers compensation coverage is preferred
· Risk management experience is also a plus
