About the team
The International Technology Team ensures that our franchisees make the most out of our operations-supporting restaurant technology (Point of Sales system – POS, Back and Front of House systems, Kitchen Display Systems, Digital Menu Boards, Transaction Log Data Transfers, etc.) in our brands’ key markets. As such, the International Technology Team ensures franchisees are leveraging and applying successfully our approved technology and growing their businesses.
This team consists of over 150 people in Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific – mainly composed of Solution Architects, Program Managers, Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, Digital specialists.
About the role
As Senior Manager, Restaurant Tech, LAC Region, you will be our Franchisee’s (customers’) main point of contact for driving approved technology adoption through the deployment and management of technology tested and approved by RBI. In this role, you will be responsible for building and managing relationships with our Franchisee partners, understanding their local technology landscape and business objectives, understanding of the approved technology stack, support and management of local pilot projects, and supporting them in enabling the restaurant, operator and team member experience required to achieve these results. It is also expected that you will take a proactive approach, leveraging insights and data points to identify business opportunities.
This role reports into the Senior Director, Restaurant Technology, International in the Technology and Digital International organizational structure, and works in deep partnership with the LAC regional Operations and Guest Experience teams. This role is based in Miami, United States of America.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities to roll out the approved restaurant technology stack through deep understanding of the existing stack in the key regional markets and creation of the plan and business case to adopt the RBI approved stack.
- Deliver business results through the configuration, enablement of existing features, and identification of new features that should be incorporated or developed in the existing stack or proposal of new technologies to be adopted.
- Serve as the “voice of the franchisee” in internal RBI Tech team discussions on the evolution of the stack.
- Coordinate with our Restaurant Technology, Digital Platform, Operations, Guest Experience, Field, and other relevant teams to ensure RBI prioritizes the right technological initiatives with its franchisees.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in back-of-house operations. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
- Plan, align and execute on project plans, together with the franchisee’s and RBI Tech’s teams, to deliver on business objectives. Identify critical path and raise awareness over risks in project deployment.
- Gather appropriate information and share frequent updates to the franchisees on the evolution of projects, features and initiatives. Support franchisees in solving eventual issues and bugs identified in their markets.
- Serve as the primary regional technology specialist to develop strong customer advocates within the company. Assume a consultative role in dealing with technical issues and interpreting applications needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering Management, Business, or related degree.
- 5+ years in a similar position(s) or as a Technical Project Management / Consultant in technology-related areas in a customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication in English and Spanish, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Portuguese desired.
- Strong technical background with a solid understanding of Restaurant Technology, particularly Point-of-Sales systems, Data Synchronization for Transaction Logs and other relevant data sets.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to keep projects on track and manage stakeholders ‘expectations. Excellent project managing skills to start and finish projects successfully.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to build relationships and coordinate with franchisees, team members, vendors, and management – both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience in customer support and/or technical onboarding.
- Experience in point-of-sale systems such as Oracle, NCR, PAR.
- Experience in QSR or Retail industries. Familiar with QSR operations and the fast-paced environment, including kitchen workflows, inventory management, and operations excellence service standards.
- Project management certification (PMI / PMP), preferred.
