Our Opportunity: Assists the culinary team in the preparation of new product ideas and core menu items. Responsible for the coordination and execution of product showings, i.e. discovery day events, franchisee meetings, leadership tastings, general R&D tastings. Coordinates product for photo shoots, video work, and other agency related activities. Performs testing and validation of recipes and procedures as well as equipment validation. Attends cross-functional meetings, takes pertinent notes, understands and can relay the status of all culinary projects to the team. Ensures the test kitchen is adequately organized, stocked, equipment maintained, and operational at all times. Assists culinary and commercialization in any other tasks needed for projects completion.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the test kitchen and all functions that are necessary to continuous flow of operations and upkeep.
- Assists team in product development activities to create new products and/or improve existing products.
- Aids in evaluation and coordination of sample product reviews.
- Works with agency partners to coordinate arrival of product for photo shoots, commercial shoots, PR events, and special product tasting events.
- Responsible for testing recipes to validate ingredient and product specifications for and from our vendor partners for all North American projects.
- Works with cross-functional teams to manage and coordinate product tastings, equipment testing, and product evaluation.
- Attend cross functional meetings and records all relevant project notes to be shared with the team.
- Track record of strong problem solving skills and creativity.
- Must have excellent oral and written skills to include formal presentation experience and the ability to prepare and present development presentations.
- Must have the ability to interface and maintain excellent professional relationships with a variety of audiences to include franchise partners, food vendors/manufactures and internal teams.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Proficient in the analysis of test data to determine product development tactics.
- Excellent organization skills; ability to prioritize and handle multi task.
- Minimal travel required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
Required Skills:
- BS degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science or related field.
- Significant culinary experience required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years R&D experience including in-depth knowledge of product development processes and project management.
