Opportunity:
The Sr. Director, Real Estate, Firehouse (US/Canada) is responsible for directing and executing all real estate functions in support of company objectives for new store development for franchisees.
Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of regional real estate leads & managers across the United States & Canada to strategize & execute the Real Estate Function for the Firehouse Subs Brand
- Research and analyze existing and prospective markets targeted either for store replacement and/or new store development.
- Develop market plan & long-range plan for responsible territory in tandem with Market Planning Team.
- Develop a network of commercial real estate brokers and manage site selection for Franchise new store developments Work with Franchisees to package and present prospective development sites to Real Estate Committee for review and approval of new developments, raze, rebuild, and relocation opportunities.
- Oversee the management of the due diligence process for new store development, including site plan approval and permitting.
- Be a strategic thought partner in the site development or tenant improvement construction process with members of the Construction Department
- Set the Real Estate strategy for any special Company projects requiring the expertise of the real estate department.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with other critical departments outside development - for example, Franchisees, Design, Construction, Operations, and Finance.
Competencies and Qualifications:
- 7-10 years in real estate, store development, finance, franchise or sales related roles, or another similar field.
- Start-up mentality, eager to move quickly and work with a lean team and desirability to have a large commercial impact on the organization.
- Ability to inspire and influence others without having direct authority.
- Experience in sales, franchise, multi-unit restaurant/retail industry required.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to accurately forecast and assess risk.
- Skilled in analyzing and interpreting business results
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to present to and influence senior decision makers.
