Job summary:

Recognizing the strategic nature of the tax function, RBI is building a world class tax department with personnel based in Miami, FL and Toronto, ON. The teams in Miami and Toronto work closely together to meet the diverse tax provision, compliance, and planning needs of this large and complex international organization. Due to the company’s growth and expansion, we are expanding our dedicated provision and compliance team in Miami to manage and oversee the provision and compliance process and are currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Tax Provision to be a part of this talented team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist with the IRS and State Income Tax Audits - Manage and support tax audits and disputes, including preparing responses to tax authorities, gathering supporting documentation, and ensuring compliance with all required deadlines.
  • Assist accurate reporting of tax matters by identifying, researching, and evaluating the appropriate disclosure of tax positions to mitigate future tax controversies.
  • Assist in preparing transfer pricing documentation, especially regarding intercompany transactions
  • Support the annual study of research and development tax credits, which the Company relies on for significant tax savings
  • Assist in preparation and review of U.S. (federal/state) and international income tax compliance process in conjunction with the outside tax compliance service providers
  • Assist with analysis related to return to provision adjustments
  • Member of the core tax provision team, assist on global tax provision efforts
  • Assists with special projects to implement tax strategies and/or detail and support current tax positions
  • Assist with federal and state tax research as needed.
  • Continuously identify and define process improvement opportunities to facilitate streamlining and automation of data for efficiency
  • Work closely with various groups within and outside of the organization (including finance, legal, external auditors, and third-party providers) with respect to wide array of tax, financing, and operational matters.

Requirements:

  • S./B.A. in accounting or finance
  • CPA license (preferred), or actively working towards obtaining CPA certification.
  • Masters in Taxation strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of tax accounting experience with a public accounting firm or corresponding in-house experience with a publicly traded company.
  • Experience in U.S. and international tax and tax accounting (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of US corporate tax/ASC 740 and general understanding of international tax
  • Solid understanding of research platforms (e.g., IntelliConnect, BNA, RIA, CCH)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Miami-based position
