Tech Asset Manager

Millennium is seeking a talented and experienced Technology Asset Manager to join our team. As a Technology Asset Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's IT hardware asset portfolio. Your role will involve strategic planning, process improvement, and effective management of IT assets throughout their lifecycle including utilizing your expertise in inventory management and proficient knowledge of ServiceNow software to ensure accurate and efficient tracking of our technology assets across the organization. Reporting on asset utilization, flows and values to management is required.

This is a new role at the firm and will require the successful candidate to work across multiple departments to understand, document and rationalize existing, disparate processes. Once preferred process is defined and agreed, global implementation will require technical support from our ServiceNow tool and co-ordination of change adoption across multiple groups.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Asset Management:

  • Develop and implement effective technology asset management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure pragmatic management of the firm’s physical technology assets.
  • Ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT asset management.

Asset Planning:

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of technology assets, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring optimal utilization and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify IT Hardware Asset needs and requirements. This includes liaison with product managers to maintain a current set of technology products.
  • Collaborate with and support various business units and technology teams in understanding and establishing data driven demand.

Asset Inventory and Lifecycle Management:

  • Develop and maintain an accurate and updated technology asset inventory, including detailed records of asset attributes, ownership, location, and financial information.
  • Perform routine audits and reconciliations of technology assets to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop and implement standard procedures for asset tracking, disposal, and secure data destruction.
  • Develop, improve and implement Governance and control processes to maintain data integrity
  • Build, develop and maintain reporting dashboards using KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Utilize ServiceNow software and other asset management tools to automate processes, track inventory, and generate insightful reports and analysis.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of at least 7 years in technology asset management, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management processes, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using ServiceNow or similar asset management software platforms.
  • Solid understanding of procurement and provisioning workflows for technology assets.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build relationships.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with IT asset lifecycle management, including depreciation and disposal processes.
  • Understanding of industry regulations related to technology asset management, such as licensing, data security, and compliance.
  • Certifications such as IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) are highly desirable.
