Application Support Engineer

Fixed Income & Risk Technology is responsible for building, managing and maintaining systems for Front to Back trade processing for the Fixed Income business as well as Risk Management for all asset classes and products, ranging from individual trader’s risks, to risk management across the entire firm.

We are assembling a strong technology team to build and support our next generation in-house risk and analytics tools. This team will provide L2/L3 support and have full ownership of the production environment for several key business lines (risk, analytics, trading, portfolio visualization, and market data).

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage contact for application issues, support requests, and incidents
  • Monitor and automate application and infrastructure alerts and be able to react quickly by using Python and Shell Scripting
  • Ensure system stability and uptime for all tools and application under this team’s management. This includes application and infrastructure/cloud monitoring, troubleshooting and user support
  • Identify and develop areas of improvement and be able to accurately assess business risk to help prioritize remediation
  • Setup, manage, and support data file downloads and processing
  • Administer outstanding issues are handed off to other regions and necessary follow-ups

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Experience supporting front office trading applications are essential, candidates must have worked within a global financial services organization, ideally within Fixed Income or Commodities
  • 5+ years professional experience in Python, Shell, and SQL
  • Development in SQL skills and knowledge of various database systems within Linux, Unix, and/or Windows environments
  • Knowledge around DevOps tools, ideally Docker/Kubernetes, Kafka, Maven, and AWS
  • Self-starter with ability to quickly pick up new concepts and technologies (Public Cloud, Serverless architecture, etc.)
  • Previous experience with monitoring tools (DataDog, OpsGenie, and ServiceNow)
