Description

What You’ll Do

  • Partner directly with the founders to drive the company’s most important priorities across fundraising, customer relationships, strategic partnerships, and special projects
  • Lead key aspects of Series A preparation, including investor materials, diligence coordination, meeting prep, follow-up, and overall process management
  • Help shape and execute MATERIAL’s government business development strategy, including relationship building, opportunity development, and coordination across proposals, partners, and stakeholders
  • Own inbound requests, serving as the central coordinator for external communications across multiple work streams
  • Represent MATERIAL externally across investors, customers, conferences, and strategic events, helping translate technical progress into compelling business momentum

What You Bring

  • Experience in early stage startups, venture capital, strategic finance, business development, consulting, executive operations, government contracting, or related high-performance environments
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with comfort operating across customers, investors, government stakeholders, and senior partners
  • A high-agency, self-starting mindset with strong judgment, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution
  • Genuine excitement for hard tech, hardware, manufacturing, defense, or deep tech, with a clear preference for building in the physical world rather than in SaaS
  • Willingness to travel as needed and thrive in a full-time onsite role in Miami

Nice to Have

  • Experience with startup fundraising, investor relations, or Series A preparation
  • Experience with Washington, DC relationships, defense innovation, or public-sector business development
  • Experience planning conferences, executive events, or high-impact external activations
  • Prior experience working closely with founders or senior executives in a Chief of Staff or similarly unstructured strategic role
