The Opportunity
We are seeking a AWS Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage security solutions for our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for securing cloud-based environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mitigating security risks. This role requires deep expertise in cloud security best practices, automation, and modern security tools.
How you will make a difference
- Support various cybersecurity projects by developing requirements and implementing technical security tools and initiatives
- Define and maintain the company's cybersecurity policies and control frameworks to ensure consistent compliance
- Collaborate with IT and business units to identify, select, and deploy technical controls aligned with security requirements
- Build and document repeatable processes and standards to uphold ongoing security requirements
- Administer and monitor security sensors, logs, alerts, and other detection mechanisms to proactively identify and respond to threats
- Act as a subject matter expert for cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, CNAPP, and CSPM platforms
- Manage and maintain network security configurations, including firewalls, AWS security groups, and Network ACLs
- Evaluate and recommend emerging security technologies based on organizational needs and posture
- Communicate cybersecurity activities, priorities, and risks to stakeholders across various levels of the organization
- Provide security guidance and oversight throughout the SDLC and application development lifecycle
- Participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with security best practices
We’d love to hear from you if you have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity
- AWS Solutions Architect or Security Specialty certification
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification
- CNAPP/CSPM experience (Wiz, Sysdig
- AWS Certified Security - Specialty Certification
Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and mitigate security risks.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, IT, Engineering).
- Excellent communication skills to articulate security risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
