The Scholarship & Financial Literacy Coordinator shall have the primary responsibility to manage all scholarship funds and state grants received by the University. This customer-centric role is responsible for delivering service excellence, and support to meet the needs of our university community. The incumbent will assist the Assistant Dean of Student Services in leveraging scholarships and state grants toward increasing enrollment and improving student retention. This customer-centric role will play a part in leveraging technology and best practices toward the maximization of student scholarships and state grants. Emphasis will be placed on the education of students and families on federal student aid and searching for external scholarship funding,

Essential Functions:

  • Provide a high level of administrative support for all aspects of the scholarship and state grant process.
  • Deliver virtual and in-person financial aid literacy workshops in partnership with the Admissions Office,
  • Serve as the first line of contact for telephone and electronic communication with students, parents, academic institutions, alumni, partners, and other inquiries regarding scholarships and state grants.
  • Assist with updating scholarship calendars and timelines with key dates, deadlines, and report dates
  • Support the Assistant Dean of Student Services with accounting and finance processes and procedures.
  • Identify and implement improvements in job-related processes.
  • Maintaining communications with students and partner schools.
  • Collaborates with university staff and other offices in strategic and operational planning aimed at delivering outstanding student services.
  • Perform fund reconciliation analysis and report for all Scholarship and Grants Programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned other duties and responsibilities as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishments of the responsibilities and functions of the department financial aid.
  • The omission of specific duties does not preclude the department head from assigning tasks that logically relate to the position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability.
  • Effective analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse constituents.
  • Manage, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks/projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Review and update student information on all required platforms, including, but not limited to OSFA, UNCF portal, and Veteran Affairs.
  • Conduct reconciliation at the end of each semester
  • Review and update policies and procedures to align with school mission and federal/state regulations.
  • Knowledge of financial aid management systems and/or student information systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to hold information in confidence, be able to communicate with all levels of staff, and make unbiased decisions and recommendations.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The position requires a bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/GED and at least five (5) years of related experience.
  • Preferred Illusion systems: PowerFAIDS, PowerCampus, and Jenzabar.
  • Experience with Florida grants and OSFA system of reporting
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
