MATH LAB COORDINATOR

The Math Lab Coordinator will have the primary role dedicated to fostering mathematical proficiency and academic success among students. This student-centric role will engage students in both one-on-one and group settings, providing personalized tutoring, facilitating collaborative study sessions, and conducting workshops. The Math Lab Coordinator must emphasize the development of a growth mindset and holistic student support, requiring a commitment to not only enhancing mathematical understanding but also contributing to the overall well-being of students. The Math Lab Coordinator will work closely with faculty, manage educational resources, and play a pivotal role in promoting a positive learning environment. The position will report to the Director of Academic Support Services.
Essential Functions:
- Provide individualized tutoring sessions to students seeking assistance with mathematical concepts, problems, and coursework.
- Conduct group study sessions to facilitate collaborative learning among students with shared mathematical challenges.
- Organize and maintain a variety of educational resources, including textbooks, software, and online tools, to support student learning.
- Develop and conduct workshops on specific mathematical topics to address common challenges and reinforce key concepts.
- Evaluate students' understanding of mathematical concepts through assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Collect and analyze data on student engagement, success rates, and other key performance indicators to inform program enhancements.
- Identify and monitor at-risk students, providing proactive support and interventions.
- Collaborate with mathematics faculty to align support services with the curriculum and ensure the effectiveness of supplementary instruction.
- Foster a growth mindset and contribute to the holistic development of students by addressing not only academic needs but also supporting their overall well-being.
- Maintains regular office hours per an approved schedule.
- The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that logically relate to the position.

- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Strong proficiency in mathematical concepts across various levels of study.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with educational technology and resources for mathematics instruction.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
