We are looking for a driven, self-starter Commodity / Supply Chain Lead to join our team. This person will be the right hand to our Head of Supply Chain & Manufacturing, responsible for managing commodities used in the TESS (Cells, Insulation, piping, enclosures, etc). The Commodity / Supply Chain Lead will collaborate cross functionally with engineering and finance and build relationships externally with suppliers and partners.
This role is based in Miami, FL and will require domestic and international travel (30%+).
What You'll Do:
- Find the “right” suppliers for the commodities he/she has in charge in terms of technical performance, cost, quality, deliveries.
- Manage the suppliers in annual spend and provide paths to aggressively reduce cost.
- Create Purchases Orders for Production and follow up accordingly.
- Work cross functionally with operations and finance teams for CAPEX purchases.
- Monitor specific Key Performance Indicators for each managed commodity (including PPM, Delivery, Average Cost per Price, Number of Suppliers, Average Payment Terms).
- Assume a leadership role in aligning the development of commodity plans with company needs.
- Ensure appropriate tactical enablers are planned and executed.
What You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of commodity management experience. Global sourcing and purchasing experience working with both low and high cost region suppliers is required.
- Previous experience in hard tech: renewable energy, aerospace, autonomous vehicles, etc.
- Experience in a fast pace, high growth startup environment
- Ability to identify priorities and action steps for achieving objectives.
- Experience consistently achieving project goals.
- Experience quickly establishing relationships with others.
- Experience building wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside the organization.
- Knowledge of categories and commodities.
- Consistent ability to produce a range of solutions to problems.
