Your impact
The Director of Learning Experience Design will have a direct impact on Correlation One’s mission by designing and building transformative educational experiences for our clients throughout their relationship with C1. They will be an expert in building strong client partnerships, understanding clients’ goals, and crafting meaningful learning experiences that meet those goals. This person will interact directly with enterprise representatives, meeting regularly to ensure the learning design, content creation, and delivery plan is in line with the enterprise goals. A successful Director of Learning Design will ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of comprehensive training programs that engage learners and support an organization in their journey to enhance their employees’ digital skills.
The Director of Learning Design will be an exceptional Learning Designer who is looking for deeper understanding of each problem the client is trying to solve. This is a hands-on role, with equal responsibility to conceptualize and build content.
A day in the life
- Embrace strategic direction and "big picture" vision for an enterprise that is embarking on a digital transformation journey. Serve as a thought partner to the enterprise, bringing expertise in learning design, data and AI, corporate training, and presenting innovative solutions and techniques.
- Manage content development for enterprise programs from inception to completion, defining and meeting objectives and timelines, and setting up mechanisms to track and communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- Build, lead, and coach a high-performing team of Learning Experience Designers and contractors.
- Provide regular mentorship and growth-focused feedback, establish clear expectations, and cultivate a collaborative, high-performance learning design culture.
- Identify and define learning objectives, develop course outlines, and build training courses using instructional best practices, including evidence-centered design, backwards design, UDL principles, and objective-driven frameworks. Ensure all content (activities, assessments, homework, etc.) aligns with learning objectives and demonstrates efficacy in outcomes.
- Leverage a variety of digital learning design techniques and approaches aligned to enhance and maximize the effectiveness of each program and best support learners.
- Provide recommendations for content delivery methods based on learner profile, client goals, and content subject matter; as appropriate, maintain a strong understanding of the enterprise’s LMS.
- Model the ability to articulate big-picture organization-wide goals of the enterprise and ensure content aligns with those goals; maintain familiarity with enterprise-specific language, examples, and milestones to integrate into content as needed.
- Integrate design thinking, agile methodologies, and flexibility to manage all aspects of learning development projects from needs analysis to implementation.
Your expertise
- 10+ years experience working in a Learning Designer role. Expertise in designing courses for online learning, with a focus on live, synchronous course experiences rather than asynchronous/self-paced formats, across corporate training and role- or industry-specific L&D.
- Deep experience executing content projects that align with company goals. Strong understanding of how projects impact goals, prioritizing based on highest impact.
- Ability to translate enterprise needs to curriculum requirements. Thinks beyond the content and considers all aspects of delivery, facilitation, and scheduling.
- Experience designing and delivering GenAI upskilling or reskilling programs with demonstrable learner outcomes, preferably in corporate or enterprise settings.
- Respects enterprise culture and brings a level of professionalism to each interaction; combines expertise with humility and curiosity; strong executive presence.
- Experience applying design thinking principles in the development of professional upskilling experiences.
- Comfortable with quick pivots and operating with some level of ambiguity; seeks clarity through open and thoughtful communication. Biased for action; tenacious.
- Passion for data and AI and knowledge of the AI landscape. Understanding of the impact AI will have on organizations.
- Collaborative spirit, proactive in reaching out to people and keeping them in the loop, ability to be self-sufficient in determining appropriate channels for communication and collaboration.
- Self aware and able to learn and grow from actions that did not return the desired outcome.
- Experience recruiting, hiring, and managing contractors.
- Comfortable and excited to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Superior written communication skills and attention to detail. We believe written communication is key to a high-performing environment.
- Data-driven and results-oriented.
Where you are
- This role is remote and can be located anywhere that is compatible with EST time zone, with a strong preference for Canada. We are headquartered in New York City and have office space in Midtown Manhattan.

The compensation range for this position is specific to location and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include (but are not limited to) location, experience, education and skill sets. The range only reflects the base salary and does not reflect bonus, equity or benefits.
