The team is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to partner closely with attorneys and firm leadership, overseeing day-to-day billing operations and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with firm policies. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage billing for multiple attorneys, ensuring accurate preparation, review, and processing of client invoices
- Review and verify billable time and expenses, ensuring compliance with client agreements and firm policies
- Maintain and update the firm’s billing system, including client information, rates, and special billing arrangements
- Monitor and manage unbilled balances and accounts receivable reports, ensuring timely follow-ups
- Prepare comprehensive client account summaries and financial reports on a monthly basis
- Address and resolve billing inquiries, discrepancies, and adjustments by working directly with attorneys and clients
- Generate and distribute customized billing reports for attorney review, providing insights into billing trends and outstanding balances
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred)
- 4+ years of billing experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
- Proficiency in billing software (Aderant, Elite, or similar platforms)
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and financial analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and firm leadership
