🏢 Senior Manager, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting

A leading real estate and rental services company is seeking an accomplished Senior Manager of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to oversee all aspects of external reporting, technical research, and accounting policy. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned accounting expert with deep SEC experience and a passion for precision, compliance, and continuous improvement.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

SEC Reporting & Compliance

• Lead the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and proxy statements
• Manage the external reporting calendar, ensuring timely and accurate filings
• Coordinate with external auditors, legal, and internal stakeholders

Technical Accounting Leadership

• Research, interpret, and apply U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
• Draft technical memos on complex accounting issues and new standards (e.g., ASC 842, ASC 606)
• Serve as internal advisor on the accounting implications of business transactions

Policy & Process Ownership

• Maintain and enhance accounting policies and procedures
• Lead accounting process improvements and support system implementations

Team Leadership & Development

• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of accounting professionals
• Foster collaboration across Finance, Legal, Tax, and Operations teams
• Represent the department with executive leadership and external stakeholders

✅ Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s / CPA A MUST)
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Big 4 public accounting background strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance
• Experience in real estate, leasing, or asset-heavy industries is a plus
• Proven leadership and team development capabilities
• Exceptional communication, project management, and analytical skills
