Coda Search is partnering with an award-winning, nationally recognized law firm that is experiencing exceptional growth and is seeking to hire a Senior Billing Specialist in New York, NY. This role is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in managing the firm’s billing operations, working closely with attorneys, partners, and firm leadership in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to oversee complex billing processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance. The firm offers a flexible working environment, requiring attendance six times per month in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with attorneys and partners to manage and process client bills efficiently and accurately
  • Review and verify billable time and expenses, ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines and firm policies
  • Maintain and update the firm's billing system, including client records, billing rates, and matter details
  • Monitor and manage unbilled time, aged accounts receivable, and outstanding invoices, ensuring timely collections
  • Address and resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies, working directly with attorneys and clients to ensure accurate invoicing
  • Generate monthly client account summaries and ensure all billing adjustments, write-offs, and appeals are properly recorded
  • Assist with electronic billing (eBilling) and ensure invoices are submitted through client-specific eBilling platforms as required
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of billing operations
  • Stay up to date with billing best practices, compliance regulations, and industry trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 4+ years of billing experience, preferably within a law firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with expertise in VLOOKUP's and pivot tables.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with attorneys and clients.
