Coda Search is partnering with a rapidly expanding real estate private equity firm to hire an Assistant Controller. This role will work closely with the senior leadership group and oversee

financial reporting, accounting operations, and day-to-day cash management activities. As the firm continues to scale, this individual will play a key role in optimizing accounting processes, implementing best practices, and supporting financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze corporate financial statements, balance sheets, P&L reports, and cash flow statements in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Assist with prepare schedules, expense allocations and preparing adjusting journal entries
  • Manage general ledger reconciliations, including accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing key financial insights to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures to maintain financial integrity.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax teams to facilitate annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, including automation of accounting functions and implementation of new systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA highly preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience, ideally with a public/private background
  • Strong expertise in corporate accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables) and familiarity with Netsuite
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with senior leadership.
