The Sales Director will be responsible for driving new business, expanding our client base, and leading the sales team to achieve revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, particularly in options and derivatives, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the financial services industry, including asset managers, hedge funds, investment banks, and academic institutions.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their data and analytics requirements.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence. Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
- Product Knowledge: Gain a deep understanding of the firm’s products and services to effectively communicate their value to potential clients.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats. Provide feedback to the product development team.
- Team Leadership: Lead by example, guiding, training, and mentoring the sales team. Build and manage a sales team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., MBA, CFA) are a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in sales, with a strong background in financial services, particularly in options, derivatives, or financial data products. Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a focus on building value-based client relationships.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of financial markets and data products.
Responsibilities Include:
- Carrying a quota of $750K-$1.2M.
- Onboarding new accounts while nurturing existing relationships.
- Leading by example with potential for building and managing a team.
- Managing sales cycles that range from 3-9 months.
- Selling in a subscription model.
