About the Company

At ClaimsHero, we're tackling a fundamental injustice. Companies are often responsible for mass harms, but the system to address them is broken: regulation lags far behind technology, and private litigation can't match the scale of consumer harm global mega-companies create.

ClaimsHero is a licensed law firm with the scale of a technology company. We are building a technology platform to rebalance the scales, making it simple for Americans to assert their rights against the companies that harmed them. Our work centers on the mass lawsuits and arbitrations that could drive real accountability, but pose hard technical challenges in scaling acquisition and operations to tens of thousands of clients/

We are a quickly scaling Series A startup that has already reached over 600,000 users and early profitability. If you're ready to create tremendous impact alongside a team transforming a highly conservative industry, apply today!

About the Role

This is an early hire as we build out operations engineering. You will join a small and mighty engineering team and quickly become a key contributor empowering our legal team to effectively support orders of magnitude more clients than traditional methods would allow. You will build tools, services, agentic workflows, and automations that efficiently carry a client’s case from intake to filing. You will work closely with the CTO and CPO to develop roadmaps and establish priorities, owning the process from problem understanding to implementing technical solutions to shipping high quality, reliable systems.

About You

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience in backend, data-intensive, or workflow automation systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent discipline.
  • A strong drive for efficiency, translating complex manual processes into scalable, reliable automations.
  • A track record of building tools and systems that operations teams actually use, and comfort sitting with them to find what's worth automating.
  • Shipped production-scale LLM/ML-backed functionality or agentic workflows and owned them afterward: evaluation, failure modes, cost, and where a human still belongs in the loop.
  • Hands-on experience with a managed model platform (Snowflake Cortex, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or similar).
  • Experience handling sensitive data in a regulated or high-trust environment (personal, health, financial, or legal records).
  • Applied models to document-heavy workflows, including retrieval, text extraction, and document understanding.
  • Commitment to technical excellence in your own work and your teammates'. We build for quality and scale, not a perpetual MVP.
  • Scrappy and humble, comfortable working independently in an unstructured environment and diving into any problem the work requires. You can work full-stack when a feature calls for it.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to work both async and in person, coordinating projects and resolving blockers across functions.
  • Impact- and prioritization-obsessed. We're a small team and can't do everything at once. What you choose to focus on (and more importantly not focus on) defines our success.

Why You Should Be Excited

  • Early Ownership: You'll have real autonomy to design systems and solve problems that set the standard for how large-scale litigation is handled across the legal industry.
  • Massive Impact: Your work will directly determine how many Americans we can serve and how much of the money they're rightfully owed actually reaches them.
  • Solve Hard Problems: From high-volume data flows to agentic workflows with strong accuracy constraints, you'll be challenged with high-impact technical problems core to our business.

Compensation

At ClaimsHero we aim to have a compensation and benefits plan that supports your well-being and aligns your interests with our success in fulfilling our mission. This includes:

  • Competitive equity and cash compensation
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Unlimited PTO and flexible work schedules

The minimum and maximum base salary for the Senior Software Engineer role is $150,000 to $200,000. Title and compensation will be determined by years of relevant experience as defined in the job requirements.
