Summary
The Coordinator is a key member of the Ministry and Community Outreach team providing supervision for community resources programs in care for the community. The coordinator is responsible for overseeing our programs that address food insecurity, reduce waste, and promote equity and abundance through sustainable practices. This multifaceted role coordinates a food pantry, urban garden, and thrift store while also cultivating leadership opportunities for volunteers, clients, and community members. This position works with internal and external stakeholders to uphold the university’s mission and core commitments.
This position will require occasional evenings/weekends.

Essential Functions
Address and minister to Food Access & Waste Reduction:
Manage daily operations of the food pantry, including inventory, community partnerships, volunteer scheduling, and community distribution.
Build relationships with local partners, grocery stores, advocacy groups, and food rescue networks to reduce food waste and increase access to fresh food.
Ensure proper food storage, safety, and documentation of pantry usage and waste diversion metrics.
Supervise Federal Work Students, including timesheet approval, scheduling, training, and evaluation
Design and implement programs that increase awareness and engagement around food insecurity and food access.
Plan and Implement Production and Programing for the Barry Urban Garden:
Coordinate the planning, planting, and maintenance of the BUG as a partner to the Food Pantry
Manage daily operations of the BUG, including inventory, partnerships, volunteer scheduling, and distribution.
Design and implement programs that emphasize the garden as a space for education, empowerment, and community engagement
Supervise and promote Thrift Store Operations:
Oversee donation intake, sorting, display, and distribution in the thrift store.
Implement programs that build awareness around responsible reuse of goods while creating a welcoming and dignified community experience.
Track inventory and collaborate on merchandising and promotional efforts.
Manage office operations:
Marketing and promotion tasks, including submission and tracking of tickets, posting on Corq, GivePulse, and social media, and maintaining an up to date department website.
Processing purchases in Workday: creating requisitions, monitoring purchase orders, creating receipts for items received and following up to ensure payment has been processed and submitted to vendors. Collecting, scanning, and saving AMEX credit card receipts in preparation for the account reconciliations. Update department cost center tracking document, including proposed budget expenses and final payments, on a weekly basis.
Qualifications/Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in any discipline is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
1-3 years of related experience is required.
Advanced Microsoft Suite skills required.
Previous experience using Corq, GivePulse and Workday.
Must be able to work occasional weekends/evenings
