Summary
The Director of Family Wellness & Strengthening Program is integral to the mission CARE Center. The Director of the Family Wellness & Strengthening Program provides administrative and programmatic oversight of year-round family wellness and strengthening program activities that include parenting-child group sessions and trauma-informed counseling sessions. The Director is responsible for timely submission of program and financial reports (monthly, quarterly, interim, and final) to the CARE Center Director and to the program funder/s. The Director is responsible for training and supervision of program providers and Barry research graduates. The Director is also responsible for increasing and promoting Barry University’s CARE Center and Family Wellness & Strengthening Program resources to community partners and internal University departments.
This is a full-time, grant-funded, in-person position.
Essential Functions
Oversight Administrative and programmatic oversight of year-round program activities:
- Oversight and supervision of duties carried out by program providers, staff, volunteers, subcontractors, practicum and internship students, research graduates
- Develops and provides program training and orientation program providers, staff, volunteers, subcontractors, practicum and internship students, research graduates
- Coordinates off campus and on-campus Family Wellness & Strengthening Program activities and resources by working closely with external partners and internal university departments.
- Coordinates Family Wellness & Strengthening Program staff/volunteer meetings
Responsible for financial and program reports:
- Maintains program budget and fiscal ledgers on expenses to ensure timely submission of budget reports to the funder.
- Works with Program Coordinator to ensure timely submission of monthly invoices from program subcontractors to the University’s Grant Finance Office through University’s system (i.e., Workday)
- Works with Program Coordinator to ensure timely completion and submission of monthly, quarterly, interim, and final grant deliverable reports to ensure timely submission to the funder.
- Collaborates with University’s Grants Sponsored office and The Children’s Trust (funder) various departments to ensure the completion of affiliation agreements and contracts.
- Prepares and provides program CARE Center Director with monthly reports for sharing during university meetings (Clinic Oversight Committee, CARE Center Advisory Council etc.)
Responsible for increasing and promoting Barry University’s CARE Center and Family Wellness & Strengthening Program resources to community partners and internal University departments:
- Director of Family Wellness & Strengthening Program is a member of community partnerships and CARE Center subcommittees; attends meetings to promote CARE Center and Family Wellness & Strengthening Program resources; shares program goals, collaborative opportunities, and program accomplishments.
- Director of Family Wellness & Strengthening Program works closely with CARE Center director to seek funding opportunities to support Family Wellness & Strengthening Program and its activities.
- Director of Family Wellness & Strengthening Program participates in community events to increase awareness and resources to the community (Health & Resource Fair, The Children’s Trust Family Expo, Back to School Fairs, Parent School Open House etc.)
- Meets with community partnerships to review program goals, objectives, and outcomes.
- Works closely with The Children’s Trust (TCT) and University Marketing department to ensure program has the most updated promotional material (i.e., TCT logo, University Logo, and CARE Center logo) for promotion of Family Wellness & Strengthening Program on websites, newsletters, brochures, documents etc.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required – Field of study: Psychology, Social Work, Business/Public Administration
Master’s degree preferred – Field of study: Human Services Field, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Family Therapy
3 - 5 years relevant work experience required
Must be able to perform administrative and program management
Develops and manages program budget and reconciles purchases and expenditures
Writing of program reports, conducts presentations to community and university departments
The Director of the Family Wellness & Strengthening Program within the CARE Center seeks and builds partnerships with the University service areas and community to carry out its mission and goals. The responsibilities of the Director of Family Wellness & Strengthening Program increases as additional community partnerships and funding opportunities increase.
